Music store previews play only through center channel

Whenever I play a song preview in the music store (both regular and RBN), it plays everything through the center channel speaker, which naturally sounds awful. This only happens in the store - gameplay itself is fine. Sadly, I'm the only one of my friends who has a 5.1 setup, so I can't test it to see if it's just me or if it happens to everybody. Is this a bug, or is it just me?

This has happened since I bought RB2 on launch day, and I think it also happened when I borrowed RB1 once (never owned it myself), but can't remember for sure. I just never bothered to ask about it until now.

Other relevant info: RB2 on Xbox 360, 5.1 via optical cable to receiver, Dolby Digital turned on in Xbox setup and also in-game, bass boost off

I've noticed a definite loss of quality when I preview songs, but my receiver is on the setting which simulates surround instead of outputting stereo, so naturally it outputs on all speakers.

Are you saying your RB2 outputs 5.1 by default?

EDIT: I can't believe I missed the Dolby Digital setting this whole time, I was always so curious why RB2 never outputted 5.1 for me. But anyways, I just set it to Dolby Digital, and tested out the previews, and yes they only come out of the center channel for me too.
