Effects Switch Application

I've tried the guitar's effects switch at random points on random songs and I don't know if its my ear, my TV's sound quality, or the guitar, but it just doesn't seem to do anything. Yes, I do get the little menu on screen when I move the switch.

Can anyone confirm if the switch only works on certain songs or certain parts of certain songs?

Basically, I see this switch as pretty much useless for my style. The game already alters the guitars effects on songs when required, so why have the switch??

The effects are only on during Overdrive and the blue solo sections.

I see, well that might makes sense because I doubt I have tried the switch at these times. Still though, I'm unlikely to use the switch at these times because I'm too busy trying to not miss notes! :D

You can turn the switch to whatever you want before the song starts or mid song, and it'll activate that effect during Overdrive and the blue solo sections.

My favorite thing to do with the effects switch, though, is to use Wah-Wah on Tom Sawyer's bass track, after the synth solo where the bass kicks in. It sounds AWESOME.

You don't have to touch the switch while playing.

Pick whatever effect you want before the song starts, then it automatically turns itself on during solos and overdrive.
