Deus (http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14220588/deus-ex-3/videos/deusex3_trl_trailer_30910.html) Ex 3! (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/107/1077019p1.html)
This better be awesome like the first one and not awful like the 2nd. Also, did I mention Deus Ex 3?

OMFG. I did not watch the trailer but I read the Q&A and it fills me with optimism. Reading between the lines, it seemed like the person answering the questions was saying "Look, we understand and agree the second game sucked, we are moving back towards the first one" but of course he could not actually say it sucked because he can't insult other game makers like that. If they are really using the first game as the primary inspiration for this one then there is a very good chance it could be awesome. I am prepared to say I am excited for this game so far!

first one was simply amazing. I never played the second one though.

How Deus Ex 3's Cyber Renaissance Averted A Puffy Pants Disaster (http://kotaku.com/5491544/how-deus-ex-3s-cyber-renaissance-averted-a-puffy-pants-disaster)
Even with the puffy pants, I doubt it would have been as bad as Deus Ex 2.

Yes the 1st is the best game ever. Amazing plot, generally fun. Kinda ruins all other games of that type because none will ever be THAT good.

Cool trailer. I just hope it doesn't suffer the same fate that other prequels have suffered. Like when a prequel is made to a movie or TV show and two characters are in a relationship, when in the original movie or TV show the two characters barely even talked to each other and nothing is mentioned about their prior history together. I guess I'm just hoping it's better game than Invisible War.
Also, the Dentons better be mentioned at some point!

I enjoyed the trailer (although a few of the lines of dialogue made me *facepalm*) but I am really anxious to see some actual gameplay footage before getting excited.

I wonder if I'm the only person that enjoyed DE2...

The problem with DX2 is that it was a 6 out of 10 but because DX1 was so awesome it seemed like a 3 out of 10 in comparison. Taken by itself it's not actually that bad of a game (not really good either though for a couple of reasons) but it was just crap compared to the first one.

I agree, although being a prequel does give them some leeway in terms of creating new fiction. The most intriguing thing about the story so far is that the nano tech used for augmentations hasn't been invented yet. I'm wondering how the mechanical augs will be implemented in gameplay now and how they'll affect multiplayer if it's included this time.(*fingers crossed*) And I'm sure the Denton "family" will be brought up somewhere in the story, even if it's just an easter egg...

Yeah, having Square-Enix publish the game certainly helps in the CGI department...dialogue, not so much. Hopefully we'll see some gameplay footage from E3.

I'm hoping they just focus on making an awesome single player game.

Apparently, they're doing exactly that. From the official FAQ at deusex.com:
"WILL THERE BE ANY MULTIPLAYER?
Since a Deus Ex game is primarily a single player experience, DX: Human Revolution will not have a multiplayer component. The dev team wants to focus 100% on delivering the best single player game possible. But that doesn't rule out some kind of online component or future expansions and content, although nothing has been confirmed."
I was kinda hoping for some MP or co-op this time since I missed out on the multiplayer in the original game due to only having the console version. At least there's still a chance for it in expansion form.

Lies and slander! The first game had multiplayer and it was awesome! I doubt they'll be any sort of multiplayer expansion either. When such things are said while a game is being developed, they normally do not come to such fruition when the game is finally released.

I never played the first Deus Ex, but I thought Invisible War was neat...

Invisible War was 'neat' but compared to the depth of the first it fell flat, kind of like playing that one godly game, then playing another game of the same genre. The other game is good but by comparison...
I really hope DX3 gets multiplayer later on. The original Deus Ex had amazingly fun online play... mostly because of custom maps like funline but still.
