I can't link my account

I just got Rock Band for the 360 and when I try and link my account, I get the following message.

This gamertag does not have any Rock Band data associated with it. Please try again. If you continue to have problems, please read the detailed instructions on the Link to Game page.

That is incorrect. I hope someone can help me with this.

Many people are having the same problem, me included. There's several posts I've seen and I know HMX is aware of it.
