How about using your MTV ties to gather up some good world music? Romanize the lyrics and you'll be sure to make a lot of J-tards happy. :D

Asian Kung-Fu Generation, L'arc En Ciel, Luna Sea, Nightmare, Rentrer En Soi.. I'm sure people could suggest a lot of good rock bands out of the non-english speaking parts of the world.

As for english suggestions, let's get some Greenday, Offspring, Smashmouth... Some of those old catchy 90's bands.

Dir En Grey and The Pillows for J-Rock, also if you wan more good non english, Vintersorg is amazing, though fitting them in Rock Band may be hard.

Too bad that most of the labels with those bands are not affiliated or have signed contracts with MTV and Harmonix. I know that Dir en grey was asking people on their Japanese forum if there were any songs to consider for the game, but I think those would be for a European (or eventual Japanese) release of the game.

Luna Sea, L'Arc-en-Ciel, and Asian Kung-Fu Generation are all part of subsidiary labels or branches that are affiliated with Rock Band so I could actually see it happening.. for a Japanese release.

Rock Band is Region free so the 12 people in Japan that care can import it.

and I see ALOT of stuff that mirrors what I suggested in a previous thread.

Don't leave Hyde's solo stuff out. Like Hello and Countdown.
