I'm not expecting any of these to be in... however some would be awesome to include (most notably, for me anyway, the European rock... I'd love to see some of that included in the game, even if just for download)
So in no specific order:
AC/DC - Back In Black
Aerosmith - Eat The Rich (okay, lyrics are a bit risque for it... but would still be worth it)
Alice Cooper - Poison
Slade - *** On Feel The Noize
Bad Religion - American Jesus
Bauhaus - Dark Entries
Billy Idol - White Wedding
Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror
Bon Jovi - Queen Of New Orleans (I know Wanted Dead Or Alive is in... but this just seems better)
Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have)
Cowboy Mouth - Here I Sit In Prison
Def Leppard - Lets Get Rocked
Dio - Rainbow In The Dark
Dope - Now Or Never
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Edguy - Rocket Ride
Evidence One - Virus In My Veins
Gary Moore - Over The Hills And Far Away
Girlschool - Race With The Devil
Gotthard - All We Are
Guano Apes - You Can't Stop Me
Guns & Roses - Paradise City
Hammerfall - Hearts On Fire
Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah
Meat Loaf - The Monster Is Loose
Megadeth - Crush 'Em
Monster Magnet - Live For The Moment
Motorhead - Bad Religion
Nightwish - Nemo
Offspring - The Meaning Of Life
Ozzy - Crazy Train
Paradise Lost - Forever After
Rage - Straight To Hell
Rage Against The Machine - Guerilla Radio
Rainbow - Long Live Rock & Roll
R.E.M. - All The Right Friends
Rob Zombie - Dead Girl Superstar
Saxon - Unleash The Beast
Scorpions - The Cross
Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild
Sonata Arctica - The Wind Beneath My Wings (Yes, Bette Middler did the original, this beats it)
Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Steel Dragon - Livin' The Life (From the film Rock Star)
Tea Party - Paint It Black (Stones cover)
Three Doors Down - Kryptonite
Thunder - Love Walked In
Thunderstone - Tool Of The Devil
Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It
U2 - Beautiful Day
UFO - Doctor Doctor
Ugly Kid Joe - Cat's In The Cradle
Great White - Rock Me
Gun - Word Up
Marillion - Hooks On You
Richard Marx - Hazard
Runrig - Hearthammer
Vixen - Edge Of A Broken Heart
Within Temptation - Ice Queen
Zeromancer - Dr. Online
And some bonus tracks that I figure have zero chance of getting in, but would be amazing if they could get even one of them as a bonus.
Crush 40 - Never Turn Back (From Shadow The Hedgehog, aka: Only good thing in the game)
Crush 40 - Open Your Heart (Sonic Adventure)
Nobuo Uematsu - Otherworld (FFX)
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven (No singing, so only really suitable as a bonus, non-singing, track)
Double J Jesse James - With My Baby Tonight (WWE song from ages ago, that I hear was released as a single in America)
However bands that I'd love to see a song from would have to be:
Lordi
Within Temptation
Hammerfall
Nightwish
R.E.M.
Edguy
and please... PLEASE put in something bu Gary Moore (just not that parisien walkways... Over The Hills, or Out In The Fields would be amazing, his stuff is begging to be put in for this game)

You're right...Otherworld would be an awesome song to play. Also Most Black Label Society songs would be a good bass heavy song to play as well as some awesome guitar solos.

BLS wouldn't be bad, but I've never been a huge fan (Not that I'd turn their stuff off, I just wouldn't deliberately play it).
Thing with Otherworld is that even if it wasn't a track from another game, the vocals still aren't really the style that would work for the main game. It needs vocals you can sing to, rather than have to scream (So anything similar pretty much has to be out. hence why I tend to think any death metal stuff would be a seriously bad idea). But yet it's such a good track that as a bonus song it would be an amazing option.
I'd hope that they would allow some bonus songs that might not use "all" the instruments available, having a vocalist lacking in a bonus song (or mebbe as DLC) wouldn't be a big problem, while in the main songs you have to play, it'd just suck.

Yeah BLS have some good songs that haven't really been put out there. I think Fire It Up on GH1 may have been the worst song they could have put on there...good guitar, but its too repetitive.
I'm like you...the playing in Otherworld is beyond awesome and it would be great if they made it optional to take out the vocalist part on that song.
BTW, I'm diggin the list.

Figured I'd add some videos to go with some of the more unknown stuff (AC/DC, GNR's, etc are obviously very well known)
Aerosmith - Eat The Rich (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ezkUoVCM9xk) (Included in case people haven't heard this specific song)
Bauhaus - Dark Entries (http://youtube.com/watch?v=SJCuF6cJGVs)
Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror (http://youtube.com/watch?v=OOtHnaQ0EYk)
Cowboy Mouth - Here I Sit (http://youtube.com/watch?v=SEgwNkJfyTs) (Apologies, crap sounding version, best on youtube tho')
Dope - Now Or Never (http://youtube.com/watch?v=CshDQKU6B3s)
Edguy - Rocket Ride (http://youtube.com/watch?v=rNS85jAK48k) (No, not from a game, just this is a clean album rip)
Evidence One - Virus In My Veins (http://youtube.com/watch?v=qoX4rLMLyPk) (I LOVE this video)
Gary Moore - Over The Hills & Far Away (http://youtube.com/watch?v=W-gc2B2IKik) (Check out the solo at 3:30)
Gotthard - All We Are (http://youtube.com/watch?v=032t95Ox3jc) (Again, crappy quality)
Hammerfall - Hearts On Fire (http://youtube.com/watch?v=S1M8uDnFSj4)
Meat Loaf - The Monster Is Loose (http://youtube.com/watch?v=LJ-v0q6mChs) (Please ignore video, it's all about the music, lol)
Monster Magnet - Live For The Moment (http://youtube.com/watch?v=z0sTqjgKaKI)
Nightwish - Nemo (http://youtube.com/watch?v=xAKf1gTx7qM)
Paradise Lost - Forever After (http://youtube.com/watch?v=QCOA7dqN2_Q)
Rage - Straight To Hell (http://youtube.com/watch?v=vsr_rJYV9y4)
Sonata Arctica - Wind Beneath My Wings (http://youtube.com/watch?v=wHEDzlSqLLE)
Spin Doctors - Two Princes (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6p3mFM1Vyb0)
Steel Dragon - Livin' The Life (http://youtube.com/watch?v=v5duq7OKUQ8)
Thunderstone - Tool Of The Devil (http://youtube.com/watch?v=kETM7jf7oek)
Richard Marx - Hazard (http://youtube.com/watch?v=YgJffiGHz7M) (Such a damned moving song... easily one of the best songs ever made)
Within Temptation - Ice Queen (http://youtube.com/watch?v=CGszdHVb2UY)
Zeromancer - Dr. Online (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q-xIAecXi3Q) (even if you don't like the song, listen to the "phone message" at 2mins in)
Crush 40 - Never Turn Back (http://youtube.com/watch?v=CgCyIUTxEo0)
Crush 40 - Open Your Heart (http://youtube.com/watch?v=owixitKhHVg)
Nobuo Uematsu - Otherworld (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6-l6F0i6Yjs)
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_IyoKEdOSL8)
Enjoy :D

Thanks, and I dunno about taking the vocalist out... 'cause you don't have to play as the vocalist if ya dun want to, however as a bonus track, the "style" of music doesn't quite matter as much as the main list would.
'course, as it's a song from Square (and there's two that are probably licensed to Sonic Team), I highly doubt they'll be in there... but by GOD I would mark out for any sonic track really (Hell, What I'm Made Of would be awesome too)

OMG needs way more metal jeez.
lorddavid
07-22-2007, 06:36 AM
If you're being sarcastic... I don't see that there's all that much "metal" in there... heavy rock maybe, but not really "metal" as such. I aimed it at a wide range (Hence Ugly Kid Joe, Richard Marx, Spin Doctors, Cowboy Mouth, Gary Moore, to name a few...)
If you're being serious... then I pity you for being that desperate for metal in a game aimed at everyone.

lorddavid

Think you'll find Quiet Riot did the cover, Slade did the original. (Tho' I could be wrong... but I doubt it)
and x3ar23 I didn't understand a single word of that post...
lorddavid

Heh, it's fine... sometimes people just don't know until they're told... for ages I thought Nightwish did the original version of Over The Hills & Far Away... then I heard Gary Moore's original, and it blew me away.

From that list I vote for Rainbow In The Dark. I have a good voice for it.

Rainbow are awesome... and I am still surprised they're yet to feature in any of these games... c'mon Harmonix, what's wrong with you!?

WOW, I didnt know that, I always thought Quiet Riot was the original...that's a surprise to me, thanks for correcting me.
They told the whole story about it on this documentary about Heavy Metal. They were forced to do the song. Quiet Riot hated the song and tried to make it sound as crappy as possible. The drummer accidently does a good drum performance. Kevin D'Brow then tries to sing it crappy as a last resort. The song turns out great. Pretty wierd...

lol, never knew that either... how come they were forced to do it then? I'm interested in it now :).

Wow, in alphabetical order and everything.
Really thought this out, huh? XD
Not bad though, I like it.
lorddavid

Alphabetical order... almost.
I went through pretty much all my MP3's, picked out the best ones, then just sorted by artist to make sure I only had one per, lol.
Hence why the end bit isn't really alphabetical anymore, 'cause they were all listed as "Various" for the artist, lol.
and yes, All The Clowns would , indeed, rock :D
