View Full Version : Only 8 characters per instrument?!

I have to say that the only thing that has disappointed me so far is the 8 character limit per character. I've got 9 people in my immediate family, plus my wife, her family, and our friends. We quickly found out that such a LOW limit was in place.

What's bad is that my wife and I both have 3 characters each since characters can only be used for one instrument. Since that restriction is in place, and I can live with it, why such a low limit on the number of character I can have?

Obviously, I have the HDD space on my PS3, just let me use it please.

I'm not sure if it works this way on ps3 and PSN, but on 360 you could just make and sign in to another XBL account, for 8 more characters.

Totally off topic, but between Ein as your avatar and Guinness as your name...

8 for one instrument is quite enough.

You can only have 8 characters per profile? (PS3) That seems whacko, is it because of some arbitrary limit on profile sizes by Sony?

I was hoping for some sort of official word. I can create more characters on another PSN account (which I've done), but then there's no way to switch a character slot over to use it when creating a band.

Even if there's no official word here, I'd love for a patch to fix this issue. Right now, I just delete characters that don't get played to often. It sucks, but apparently it's the only real solution. :(

You can have more then 8 characters per profile.

I think what the op was saying is that Rock Band is designed to allow only 8 per instrument. So on any version (360 or PS3) you could have 24 characters? (8 drummers, 8 singers, 8 guitarists)

Then someone said on the PS3 you could simply create a new account on your PS3 and load up the game from that account and have an entirely new set of people you could make (though the two accounts could not co-mingle).

The DLC for PS3 is not tied to any particular user account so you still get full access to all the songs you've downloaded.
