And we finally got rid of Andrew Johnson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Johnson). What kind of tyrant goes against the Tenure of Office Act?

For everyone in the US to appreciate this thread we have to put like this...
Imagine if Eric Holder and Obama were like...
"Violent/sexual video games are ruining families and the community, so any game with an M rating is going to banned in this country. You wont be able to buy any M rated games in stores or from online stores based in the US. We need to keep out kids safe"
So basically Michael Atkinson has been blocking laws to allow games to have an 18+ rating in Australia. With him gone there's hope that the new AG will be all for the new classification laws, which would be awesome.
Not only would it mean that games will stop being banned/refused clasification but it'll also mean we dont get watered down versions.

Halo got a rating of MA15+, which is australia means u need to be over 15 to buy. 95% of your 17+ stuff is rated 15+ here. But there are of course exceptions, a few games have been classified too violent/whatever for kids 15-18 to play. Since theres been no R18+ rating it just gets outright banned.

Australia sounds like a tough place to live if you're a video gamer.

I've been following the antics of that idiot for years. Grats Australia. Millions of gamers down under are toasting the death of a tyrant, I'm sure.

Dont know the guy, but his reputation precedes him. Censorship is an ultimately fail policy, so I cheer for any such advocate to fall.
