I think Rock Band should put in the game the ability to purchase strings, Straps and drumheads. What do you guys think? I think it would be sick if they have a shop where you can upgrade your strings or purchase some sick straps or even upgrade your drumheads!

I notice Zildjian in the game but I don't notice any other name brands such as D'addario or Evans Drumheads?

What do you guys think? Wouldn't it be a great idea to have the top name brands implemented in the game? I think it would make it feel more real.

Just and idea.:D

I would be into that, for the more legit feel, but I can already see a lot of people complaining about the increasing prevalence of advertising in video games. I, presonally, don't mind it if it's not blatant -- though most ads seems that way now, in the early days of video game advertising.

That ideas sounds cool and I like it. The game should have it so your strings wear down and then you get notified that they are in danger of breaking. Wouldn't that suck if you broke a string playing live:eek:

The strap and drumhead upgrades sound cool also :D

Make it the Gran Turismo of music games, eh?
I think this is taking it too far......almost as bad as the people who demand the game be conveted to a "learn guitar/drums/bass/singing in 2 days" simulator.

I disagree Ardius. The game is fun and it should stay that way, I just thought it would be cool to throw in a little fun by being able to customize your drum set and be able to choose what strings you would like on your guitar. A little bit or realism is good I think for the game.:D

I think different patterns and colors for the drum heads is a cool idea.

I just wanted to change the color of my character's drum sticks though. :(

I like the idea of having a string snap in mid play and having like some sort of a time limit to place a new string on the guitar! Nice idea ArabburnvictiM.

Hmm, yes, thats all well and good and I dont have any problems with adding a little extra customisation. Unfortunately, it leads to this:

People start to get ideas.....and then we end up with a not-so-fun game. Some realism is nice, but too much makes the game do exactly what it shouldn't - bring you back to reality.

EDIT:

I like the idea of having a string snap in mid play and having like some sort of a time limit to place a new string on the guitar! Nice idea ArabburnvictiM.

Wha? Ok, this I totally disagree with. The only time you would have to do this during a live set in a real band is if you are a small band and do not have a backup guitar or if your backup guitar also does it and this is extremely unlucky unless you forget to replace your stings often (then its just your own stupid fault). Ive seen many a band have this happen to them, and they simply run off and pick up their backup and keep playing, they wouldnt force the audience to wait 5 minutes while they go and re-string their guitar!
This would not make the game more realistic or fun, it would just un-necessarily complicate the game.

I agree with Ardius here, although the coustomization with the colors and stuff is nice, the whole have your drums split and strings break thing is overdone. At some point your better off just doing the actual real thing. I understand GT because not everyone can afford a 1 million dollar formula 1. But everyone can afford a fender...just go buy a guitar
