After sitting back for a bit and not commenting on this i am severly disappointed in this community site. It's hard to locate your friends, hard to keep in contact with them.

1. There are no tournmanents - Like GH3
2. There is no way to really trully feel like you are part of community
3. OUr community is still simply the forums

I hate to say it but it was a poor implementation - In both useability, navigation, speed, and features.

My claims have merit. I too work as a UEX designer and work, worked on community portal implementations. They just need to take this one back to the drawing board. And by that they really need to ask this community what they need to see on this site.

I'm under the impression that it's a work in progress. Now that they have the core databases integrated into the web interface I guess we'll see more cropping up as time goes by, at least while interest in the game remains high and profits match.

I was expecting to be able to make some fake promotional materials for our bands, eg. photos, promo posters etc. Did I get that from something official or was it just an idea being bounced around?

I was also expecting more. Maybe a band profile. Or something.

Feel free to steal my idea HARMONIX. But here is how I envision this

I log in and immediately presented with a page - That displays my record albums for each of my bands, my friends I have played with online, and the ability for me to directly search and ADD TO PS3 / XBOX new friends to my friend list from the site.

I want to be able to see on that home page - new contests. Contests broken out it sections like - SOLO and BAND then down to each of the instruments. Sure you can start out slow with this to begin.

From my "MAIN PAGE" I should be able to directly communicate via Instant message with my friends - I should be able to see on my PROFILE directly all accomplishments - or provide a link to view accomplishments. (This should be relagated to as fiew PAGE loads and clicks as possible)

As is now we are faceless, nameless, brainless community site. I talk about GH3 because they did somethings right and somethings wrong. Though they took a lot more steps in the right direction.

Like I tell many of my clients the first ROLLOUT of a website is extremely important to ADOPTION. Clients have adopted your game, now if you slowly add these features over time sure people will use them but the FIRST impression is always the most important!

At any rate - these are just a few small small ideas. Main theme when I come to this page - I want to feel involved in my community - and be able interact with a larger Rockband COMMUNITY. Across the PS3 / XBOX360 Divide.

I hope it is work still in progress. I think a lot of us feel the same that we envisioned more for it. Yes, it's nice looking and well presented, but you're right, it's not really a community feeling.

The community feeling is the forums, I don't even look at my "Rocker" page. Because there's nothing there that I can't just look at in-game.

When it was first mentioned back in the day by HMX, we all imagined a "Myspace" type setup. You create a Band Profile Site, and have pictures, maybe upload screen shots, etc. But it's just something you can see your score, band name, and character names, that's it.

Hopefully we can see more in the future.

Werd to the werd.

Werd to the werds, thereby creating a circular arrangement of werds and forming an infinate loop.

Ut oh, infinate loops bad! Memory leak! 504 Error: The Gateway Did Not Respond In Time

I'm all about keeping things nice and pretty - so even if it was like myspace. I would still want them to maintain consistency and not change themes etc. So the site does not become like MYSPACe hillbilly design ville:)

Another addition on my MAIN PAGE - You could show new DLC's that are available. You could even show a poll of a group of songs that pEOPLE have asked for and you may add to rockband. Then let the community vote. Wow talk about ROI. You would most likely actually get only the songs the majority of the community wants!

Yeah, I've wondering about the idea of a DLC poll for a while now. However, I recently read it takes upwards of 3 months for a song to go from licensing, to QA, to final product.

I think what would be more realistic would be a forum poll where users could vote on 5 already made band packs, and then the poll results would determine the order in which the DLC tracks are released. (if that's even feasible)

It would generate buzz, interest, interaction, and be a neat way to organize the much requested "DLC schedule" people are after.

I don't think it is necesarily terrible -- I am fine with a simple forum. But tournaments are definitely missing. That is one thing I would LOVE to see.

I realize the DLC acquisition process and coding takes a bit. But yeah something along those lines for a POLL

Considering it took them over a month after the game was out to launch the site I was expecting it to be fully functional, and at the very least comparable to the GH3 site. The GH3 site blows this out of the water in every aspect.

Please add the ability to create online bands and the ability to track your scores when your band plays online, give me a reason to use this site.

anyone know if they will implement a way to upload pics to the site from the game. I mean its really hard to put of pictures of your band playing when your playing. And I would like to see pictures of everyones avatar w/o all the writing from being in the "practice space"

I must admit to being very disappointed with how the site has turned out also.

For the last couple of months of the year, I really have no idea what Harmonix did. The PS3 compatibility patch was done early November, but that's all we've seen from them. They could've disappeared for the Christmas break mid November and I doubt any of us would've been able to tell the difference.

We can link our website accounts with our in-game accounts, but what's the point? It doesn't upload pictures, scores or songs, so about all you get is a list of players you've created. It is literally just a list of names next to generic icons that signify what instrument they're playing.

The band page shows the date my band was created, but there's no information for any of the gigs I've played atall. You can play a song and it doesn't give a hoot, but buy a new hat, and it'll update how much money you have left. What?

For a company that it appears did next to nothing the last couple of months of the year, I'd think there'd be more to this site than just the "foundation" by now.
