Popeye CG Movie

Sony Pictures is developing a CG Popeye feature to be released in 3D. Avi Arad is producing and Mike Jones is in negotiations to write the script.

The storyline is being kept under wraps, but Popeye's love interest Olive Oyl, nemesis Bluto and adopted child Swee'Pea will be part of the adventure, says Variety.

Arad says the new version will cover the themes of friendship, love, greed and life, and focus on human strengths and human frailties.

I don't see how people can stand to walk into movie theaters anymore. Hollywood is practically saying to everyone's face that we are stupid and will not notice that nearly every new popular movie is a remake, sequel, or based off a previous book, comic, or TV show.

3D is not optional a lot of the tim. Most theatres only carry the 3D versions unless its a really big movie.

My theater had 3 versions of Avatar. 3d, Imax 3d and 2d.

I didn't see Avatar, and I likely never will. It really looks like a more expensive version of GI Joe. Or, a movie that I do not want to ever see.
