The forums are really just not what the use to be. Things use to be happening, threads would move so fast, you couldn't keep up. I thought with the Rock Band 3 announcement that some life would be brought back but it really hasn't. I think it's time for a massive thread delete and restart. It's time for a fresh start and some Spring cleaning, anyone agree?

As for General (and WAYDRN in particular), yes, it's been pretty quiet lately. Lots of people seem to have moved on to Facebook and Twitter.

I have to admit my own time for banter has been cut a bit short as well with the little hellspawn around. I suddenly have much fewer hours to get my work done, which leaves less time for slacking off. :D

I used to post every day in high school because I wasn't allowed to play video games, and last semester in college I had no video games so this was one of the few things I could do as free time

Now I have other ways to spend my free time, and most friends I care about talking to I already have on Facebook and MSN, so I have no real reason to continue posting

Plus, the interesting people that kept this place wacky have moved on. I'm sure Rock Band 3 will bring a new season of new characters, new plots, and new adventures. This fall, on FOX

Okay, here are a few things I've noticed that could possibly explain why the forums are getting old...

1. Several users have gone missing.

2. Werewolf was removed for a while. (Thankfully someone else re-made it.)

3. The ban the member above you game was also removed for no reason. (Post farming, possibly?)

4. Neversoft has been whoring themselves so much that people are actually buying into their crap, therefore, removing many from RB's side. Most of those might actually be fellow forum members.

5. Do I need to f***ing say it? LOOK AT ALL THE SPAMMERS!

6. The one-star rating bull isn't around anymore, but it still says you can't rate the threads. Therefore meaning that users can't rate threads that have already been rated.

Overall, these forums are going to hell.

i will be honest i use twitter, but mostly to get updates from people. I tend to have twitter open in another tab and just refresh when i see there's an update, I've been following a few of the links, but at the end of the day, forum life in general usually ends up becoming stale as the same things are constantly being repeated.

ie WHERE'S MY PANTERA?, RADIOHEAD PLZ!, MOAR RUSH!! wah wah wah... it gets tiresome.

Granted, it took me a year after joining to actually spend some time on the forums so one could argue that I'm late to the game, but it all seems fresh to me.
I've found some cool bandmates, some really funny irreverent humor and lots of good support and discussions.

I left back in early January, just started to post a little more. I don't really post often anymore, I used to be completely obsessed with this place.

Now this place seems bland, a bunch of people I don't know are here. I don't talk to anyone I used to talk with on a regular basis.

I'm hoping RB3 will revitalize interest in the forums and this place can be the fun place it used to be. (And I still separate my thoughts with line breaks)

Speaking from personal experience, my job caused a lull in my attendance here, and when I came back, most of my forum-buddies had moved on. WAYDRN, as popular as it was, I also think it was a culprit. It used to be that if something funny or cool happened, there would be a new thread/poll/discussion (sometimes 30-50 a day!), but once WAYDRN took off as a chat page, everyone just started posting their stories in there rather than making new threads for everyone to chime in on.

Plus not having Culturedog around to talk movies or LZ_69 to talk PS3 exclusives sucks. :p
