Either with the game, community, or whatever.
1. People who sing along with the song.
2. People who talk throughout the song.
3. People who ask personal questions, or make weird comments. (I'm gonna get your ip address and rape you.)
4. People who play on difficulties they can't handle. C'mon, no one is making fun of you because you play on medium.
5. People who leave in the middle of a song.
That's all I've got, I'll be sure to add more when I think of them. -_-

I personally dislike when during solos people mimick the solo with their mouths.
It's funny once. Then, it's obnoxious and distracting.

1. People who try the game once on drums, fail, and never try the game again.
2. People who hate me singing the guitar solo.
3. People who hit the kick pedal into a wood floor so hard that it sounds like they're a very slow woodpecker.
4. People who are too afraid to sing.
5. People who don't understand me.
6. People who disrespect Sweet and really any glam.
7. People who disrespect The New Pornographers.

1. People asking when they will unlock a song.
2. People blaming HMX for EA's bad customer service.
3. People begging HMX to pay Activision so they can use their GH3 guitars on the PS3.
4. People asking questions that were already asked 100 times and answered five weeks ago.
5. People who don't use the search function to find answers to questions in #4.

My biggest pet peeve is the very poor way that Rock Band handles profile sign-in/sign-out on the 360.
Not only does the game not offer a method to bring up the 4-player sign-in screen to make changing the signed-in profiles easy, every time you sign-in/sign-out a player when memory cards are inserted, the game asks you to select the memory device for every single profile that's currently signed-in. After a session tonite where people where changing instruments, we got sick and tired of this VERY quickly.

1.) People who can't take a joke and get upset about my videos... LOL
2.) People that feel there is a "correct" way to play vocals.
3.) People that get upset when you don't sing that way.
3.) Drums with no rebound to the "head" - I mean geez, let me do doubles!
4.) HO/POs suck.
5.) There's only one Rush song.. and it's a cover.. a bad one at that.
6.) The Konks... I don't give a rats ass who you are, or whether or not you care.

1. Guitarists who don't realize they can use Overdrive.
2. People who don't know that if you all use Overdrive at the same time, you get more points.
3. People that pick really bad songs.
4. People that fail on Easy.
And my biggest one:
People who join while your searching for players, and quit after literally 3 seconds of waiting for more players. Seriously, why would anyone do that? And you find one of these people every time you search for players.
DAMdude
12-30-2007, 08:44 AM
1. People who don't pick the random song generator.
2. People that have to listen to each song to see if they want to play it. (chances are it's the same songs as 5 minutes ago.)
And what PISSES me off the most as an expert guitarist.
3. PEOPLE WHO DO NOT TAKE TURNS FROM BASS TO GUITAR...DILDOS

1. People who complain about the $170 price tag of the RB bundle.
2. The Activision / HMX PS3 patch fiasco, with extra peeves towards those who think HMX should pay out to resolve it.
3. The major lag using a 360 headset for vocals making it basically unusable.
4. The lag in pitch detection (even with the RB mic) which won't pick up and start tracking for a slight time even when you sing on beat - meaning that most of the time it's better to start singing the note before you have to.
5. That the RB mic is too big to fit in a standard mic stand clip.
6. No solo tour for the bass.
7. That artwork isn't transferable - i.e. band artwork can't be used by the individual band members.
8. People who think bass is easier (and less important) than guitar - both in game and in real life.
9. Kirk Hammet's guitar solos - :D

This will fit your mic (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2131025&cp=&sr=1&origkw=mic+adapter&kw=mic+adapter&parentPage=search). It's a clip, so it will open wide enough to work.

1. People who think the game was made specifically for them
2. People who think that thier opinion is somehow more important than anyone elses
3. People who don't understand what a subjective argument vs. an objective debate is
4. People who conduct themselves differently on the internet / xbox live than they would in real life
5. People with no ability to recognize that you don't have to enjoy music to appreciate it
6. People who belittle others for disagreeing with them

When the online leader is a guitarist who wants to play nothing BUT the guitar. He'll pick a song, pick guitar, and if he ends up with bass he'll go back and try again. And again. And again...so far the record is six times, but it happens quite often.

Couldn't agree with 2 and 3 more. It's like people who stare at the menu in McDonalds for 10 minutes looking for something new. It hasn't changed in 20 years people. LOL Also we all like to play lead so switch it up.
I don't belive in random under one condition, which is my biggest pet peeve. If you have DLC in common...PLAY IT. I am sick of Dani California, Welcome home, Enter Sandman and Blackhole Sun. That goes for score duel also. If you have no DLC then hit random and we will see if you can play more than the usuall five picks (the fifth being GG&HT.) If I had my way I would say "Welcome home". Please, "Enter Sandman", take "Dani to California" and get lost in a "Black Hole son" while looking for "Green Grass and High Tides".

* People who claim that they have not downloaded any DLC "because there are no songs that I like." Yet somehow justified $170 for all the great songs on the disc. Huh? Are you narrow-minded or not? You can't be both.
* People who think that somehow that their score matters. Yet complain when the piano is charted which will give them more points. Yet somehow they think that every instrument needs to be doing something all the time.
* People who complain about the PS2/Wii version because of the graphics. All you are really looking at are colored bars people. This game would play the same with Atari 2600 graphics.
* People who don't see a need for RB2.
* People who complain about the DLC but off NO REASONING or ANALASYS.

1. The fact that HMX felt it not necessary to program a Solo Tour for one of the included instrument parts. And that they have yet to say anything about whether or not it matters to them that people want it.
2. People who quit from a Score Duel or Tug of War when there's only 10 seconds left in the song. You've been losing for 5 minutes! Why now?!
3. People who respond to posts just to say "you suck" or "you're stupid" (in whatever words they choose to use). Seriously, do you think I'm going to reply when you contributed nothing to the discussion?
4. That I can't look at my Leaderboard scores all on one page. Is there some fundamental reason to make me have to click through 130+ pages to see each of my song scores?
Thanks!

1. People who don't have any DLC. I have around a hundred downloaded songs and everytime I find a full band to play with we can never play any DLC because none of us have even one of the same songs.
2. People who don't play on expert online if they can. In other words people who purposely pick hard or medium just to screw with everyone else who is on expert.
3. Stupid "can't connect to session" message every time I try to play with my cousin.
4. Choosing random and getting the same songs over and over again. I swear I could call out the order the songs will appear in when we choose random. My cousins hate me for it to because it's always the songs we hate.
5. Broken talkies. There aren't many songs I can sing but I absolutely hate broken talkies. They make me feel as if I'm doing worse than I really am.
6. When my mic just spazzes out randomly. It'll be working fine for 5-10 songs but after that it just freaks out and refuses to work properly. Two different mics have this same problem.
7. When my guitar won't activate OD. This is like my fourth guitar and they have all had this same stupid problem. They all refuse to activate OD. I'll be in my living room jumping like an idiot to get it to activate while my family is laughing at me.
8. Songs like Seven and Rockaway Beach that are impossible to gold star...even with squeezing.
9. Glitched songs like Next to You and New Wave that...well you know.

You know what. You're right. I hadn't intended it to come out the way it did when I typed that up. I only quit when the whole band (everyone besides me) plays medium. That still doesn't excuse what I said. I apologise to all of those people I may have insulted with that comment. I didn't intend to. Honest. I guess I just assumed that everyone who plays online would be as good or better than me seeing the leaderboards. I guess I never thought that I would get people who weren't as good or better than I was. That's what I get for assuming though. I'll go back and edit that post. I really do respect the people that are just starting out and learning and choose the easier difficulties but I once again just assumed that those type of people wouldn't play online. Once again I am sorry.

9. Kirk Hammet's guitar solos - :D
In case you didn't know, "Ride the Lightning" is Dave Mustaine, which I think is the hardest of all 4 Metallica tracks.
My list:
1. People who feel they need double bass to play Expert drums at all.
2. When playing online how the song will get picked up by someone's headset so I get to hear a very reverbed rendition of whatever we're playing
3. How whenever I have people over, they ALWAYS want to play "Say It Ain't So" and NEVER want to play "Buddy Holly". I bought that damn track because it's the only Weezer track I can stand and I figured people would know it, and therefore would want to play it.
4. How much my skill level goes in the toilet when the rest of my band starts sucking it up.
5. How quickly my guitar skills plummet when I've been imbibing.
6. Doing awesome on a song, and then never coming close to matching that ever again (that's why I've only GS'd "Highway Star" and "My Sharona" once).
7. Getting the cops called on you for playing too loud (only happened once, and they just told us to turn it down).
8. The fact that there are some songs on the disc that I'd rather have replaced with nothing (I sadly reminded myself that The New Pornographers are on there).
9. Blind buying "Rock Rebellion", then having people tell other people that the song is awesome. I realize those are people's opinions, but they can still be wrong.

This is a joke right? Seriously? This post is absolutely ignorant and I hope that was done on purpose but in case it wasn't:
Some songs ARE impossible to gold star. No one's done it yet and no one will unless there's a patch to fix it. Next To You is glitched, again same thing. The shaky on the PS3 IS A FACT and NOT due to water/spit. Some insturments DO NOT work and have been known to break easily. I'm pretty sure YOU are the uninformed one.

Yes. The last note in the second OD phrase is broken. It's supposed to be a B+O but the B is slightly off beat so you have to flam to hit it. That's the only thing keeping me from the gold star on that song too. Very frustrating.

I watched it and I see the singer get "Okay" on the OWW phrase anyways (so the person in the video obviously didn't do it). Somebody MAY have found a crooked way of getting that phrase or score with that phrase just like somebody got 313,044 on Blitzkreig Bop but I still don't think it's legit. In fact it's crap like that score on Blitzkreig Bop that just made me stop competing for a spot on the leaderboards (not that I was very high anyways, in the 20's when I noticed crap like that) but that's beside the point.

My peeves are little game-design things that had I been on the team (I am a programmer BTW, though not a game programmer), I would have railed against.
1) You should be able to transfer the band leader role from one character to another, at least within a profile.
2) You should have some way of copying the art from one character to another.
3) The drummer should get something for completing the Hall of Fame.
4) You should be able to turn off a wireless controller and have that also trigger signing out--not trigger a persistent "Please reconnect controller" pop-up.
5) You should be able to sign in on a controller without having to sign out on another controller first. It should automatically sign out on the other controller, just like it does when you enter Solo Tour.
6) Singers should have some method of activating overdrive (pick a button, any button) to revive a failed band mate no matter what is otherwise going on in the vocal track. Ditto for drummers.
...every time you sign-in/sign-out a player when memory cards are inserted, the game asks you to select the memory device for every single profile that's currently signed-in....
Ah, here I disagree because there is a very cool reason for this: By asking each player where his/her saved game is every time (that's what it's really asking for, BTW), it allows multiple players to all have their saved games available without having to copy them to the hard drive. When each player signs in with his/her own profile AND selects the location of his/her own saved game, everyone gets to use their own individual characters when playing multiplayer. I would not want this to be impossible.

I know the singer in the vid gets an okay on that phrase but in the description (off to the right) he says someone has FC'd it. But I agree with you. It was probably an accidental glitch.

1. Dani California, Black Hole Sun, Enter Sandman, Green Grass and High Tides, and Learn to Fly. (I would also stick Welcome Home in here, except that for some reason I never get tired of it.)
2. People who will only play guitar, and not do bass. I actually notice this more locally with my friends and others I game with, as opposed to online. Either way, it's annoying. If a person is that adverse to playing bass, maybe they should learn drums or vocals then.
3. People who comment negatively on other people's singing. Who cares what it sounds like. The aim of the game is to get points, not to sing like you're in an actual band. No one comments when people don't use a pick to strum their guitar controller, why should they comment on singing.
4. People who endlessly complain about DLC without using some sort of objective or reasonable analysis and reasoning. I get really tired of seeing threads like... "This week's DLC sucked cause it didn't have one of my favorite bands in it, wah wah wah."
5. Pretty much anyone who can take the time to sit on their computer and type out comments on a forum, and then claim they know how to use proper grammar and spelling, they just don't want to spend the time doing it.
6. The majority of people on this forum, honestly. A lot of people are very closed-minded, and I really hate to think what my life would be like if I associated with them in person. I wonder if they'd whine and complain as much about DLC in real life as they do on here. :P
7. The Rock Band guitar. I know it's a matter of opinion, and I just don't like it.
8. There's more, but I don't remember them all. (Forgetting things, especially regarding Rock Band, is also a pet peeve, which is why I included it.)

4. People who play on difficulties they can't handle. C'mon, no one is making fun of you because you play on medium.
I read the whole thread but the OP pointed out my number 1 pet peeve right away...
I was playing the other day with a group (me drumming) and the leader chooses "Number of the beast". I'm like okay, cool. Right away he and the bass player scroll down to expert and hit ready. Im thinking "this is going nowhere fast"-- not saying the song is impossible and I know there's tons of great guitar players out there but I just had a feeling on this one. I select hard, singer selects medium, song begins.
The leader who chose the song fails out during the intro, before I can even play a note to get OD and save him. He quits the song and exits the band breaking everyone up.
That just drives me nuts. Considering the full band wasn't playing on expert I have no idea what he was trying to prove to us or himself.
Also another poster mentioned this,
Another pet peeve. People who give others crap for 'reviving old threads' and yet in another thread are the same people who give someone else in another thread crap for 'not using the old thread, learn to use the search button'.
Which is a pet peeve I have of RB posters, everybody doesn't know how to stop *****ing and just enjoy the forum. People get the third degree for making a topic for something that has been discussed before (even if the person is new to the forum) and then people also get attacked for reviving an old topic. I mean wtf, seriously? Coming here sometimes you'd swear EVERY member was a mod.
Some of my other pet peeves...
Long tiresome repetitive yellow drum patterns
People who choose to ONLY play the impossible tier songs. Difficult does not always = fun
(It's been said but) People with no DLC, including still alive. I have a ton of DLC and I'm so tired of the on disc songs, I don't see how others aren't. I just signed up for the dlc quickplay site the other day, I'll see how it goes
(Local) singers who butcher the song after they realize they can get an "awesome" rating just by making the pitch and not singing the words.

1) People online who when you are in the pre-song lobby will say stupid things like "You better be good!"
2) People who won't play the game because they think they'll be rubbish at it (like most of my mates). If you can't play it right away try the tutorials a few times.... it's not rocket science.
3) People who moan at you for not having any DLC. (I only bought the game 2 weeks ago and I blew my money this week on the instruments. I've not even managed to play through the on-disk songs yet)
4) People on forums who gripe at other people for asking a question that's already been asked and then tell them to "use the f*cking search function!". Imagine it as a real world situation. If someone came up to you asking for directions, you wouldn't tell them to "go buy a f*cking map!"

1. Charting different instruments. I play guitar, not keyboard.
2. Online quitters.
3. People who don't love Rock Band.
4. Being 1,000 points away from gold stars.
5. Distractions while playing (cat jumps in front and bumps me, wife walks in front, text message *ring*, knock at the door, etc).
6. Staring at a OD meter that is 49% full for the last 1:20 of a song.
7. Deploying OD and missing the next note (ARGH!!! Kinda funny though).

1) Obvious things that should never have got past testing, such as the talkie parts in 'There Goes My Gun' completely not working. Cool that they're already checking it out and all, but this should have been noticed by the simple method of someone trying it, maybe once or twice.
2) People who have no patience for someone who just plays the game for, y'know, fun, rather than having to get 100% every time on high difficulty levels.
3) People who have a go at me for playing Solo. I've just got the game, I want to be at least competent at medium drums before I play with others! This may seem to contradict 2), but the way I see it medium drums seems to offer a good compromise between difficulty and similarity to the actual drum beat, which makes it fun for me at the moment (I'll probably progress to hard, but only when it's not too difficult to be fun)
4) Being kicked back to the menu after finishing a song - I'd like the option to restart it without having to load it up from scratch again or pressing start before the song completely finishes - unless I'm missing something.
5) Not being able to put 1 character on different instruments. I like the first character I made, and I'd like to just be able to do the solo tours with that one character, and select his instrument. I guess I could make the same one with slightly different names, but it's just not ideal.
6) Actually... I'm about done.

1. No Solo World Tour, no Online BWT, and no Bass Tour.
2. People on the forums who think the number of posts they've made means they are more important than someone else. Note - This happens on almost EVERY forum I've ever visited. The guys with 1000's of posts will make stupid remarks about how people with fewer posts than themselves don't know what they're talking about, tell people to use the search engine, etc. Very annoying since all it means is you have no life but the forums.
3. Music snobs who think everyone should be happy with whatever DLC comes out and if someone isn't happy with X genre, they need to "widen their tastes." These people also almost always hate the Thrash Pack as well.

7) People who buy DLC, and then complain about not liking the song.

8) People who comment on YouTube videos of Rock Band to boast about how much better they are at whatever the song is, especially if the video wasn't even being made to demonstrate skill.

Online Band Leaders that wait....and wait...and wait for a singer to be joined up to make a full band and then pick Timmy after finally picking up a female singer only to have her quit on the song selection screen.
Leaders that pick on disk songs before picking available DLC songs. Come on...we all wouldn't have the songs if we didn't like them, and we rarely get a chance to play them online!

1. People who sing along with the song.
I do this when I play online but no one hears me but the guy who plays in the room with me when we play online (it's usually us + an online drummer and online singer). I don't wear a headset.
Actually, I do this all the time when I play. Never play in person with me if you don't want to hear it. Wait, you probably never will. :p
Here's mine, in order.
1. People who quit in the middle of a song. Stop it. I'll keep you alive as long as humanly possible if you suck. And if you don't like this song, we'll do a different song next! You pick songs I don't care for sometimes and I'll put up with them so you can have fun too!
2. People who play beyond their level. Yes, I'm playing on expert. But I don't care if you don't. I don't even care if you play on easy. Just please, please try not to make the band fail out. I'll bring you back and use my overdrive to keep you alive. Some songs have hard portions that you might struggle with and that's fair. But if you're playing on expert when you should be playing on hard or even medium, that annoys me. If you are constantly in the red throughout a song that means you should not be playing on that difficulty!
3. People who are intentionally obnoxious. Yes, I'm looking at you the people who kick me or make stupid remarks when I be a female character but then you don't care if I be a male character. Ironically, I AM female.
4. People who get annoyed if you're not using a headset. We don't need to talk to play. If I'm not leader, I don't care what we play. If I am leader, I am more than willing to take requests from the headset people. I pick songs all the time that the headset people ask for. In fact, you ask for it 99% chance I'll pick it even if I hate it (ugh Timmy) so you can have fun too. If not right away, then next song. Just don't demand I wear a headset. They're uncomfortable for me to use when I'm playing guitar or drums.
That's pretty much it for me. I prefer people to have DLC but I won't get mad if you don't. I just want to have fun. I don't care if people have weird or ugly characters, or characters that "don't go with" mine. They think it's fun to be that, so why not? I have fun using my characters that they may or may not like.
I will say that I wish more people knew what the Endless Setlist icons meant though. I'm constantly asked what my gold icon (hopefully platinum icon soon!) means. Since I don't wear a headset I'll usually just send them a message, but it gets annoying typing that out several times a day. It's not really an annoyance to hit the pet peeve list, but still...
I do have pet peeves with people on these forums as well. It revolves almost entirely around the DLC complainers. There's been DLC I don't want but I still think that's great it came out. People out there want it even if I don't. And there's good songs that have been released that you think is bad just because you don't know it and are unwilling to give it a listen. You, closed minded people, are more annoying than all of my Rock Band pet peeves above combined.

People that define what classic is. We had classic rock in the seventies..but by your definition we would have been listening to strictly Little Richard and the Big Bopper. And your def would mean that nothing post-1983 is classic yet. I think most would agree that Back In Black qualified decades before 2005.
That said my second pet peeve is people who think because they like something it qualifies as classic, that art criticism is just somebody's opinion, and that sales triumph over everything else.
I hear you that twenty-five years later The Cannonball Run is still not a classic but There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men already qualify.

You remember "classic rock" when you were 10? That is when Kiss was just six years old and I hardly would have considered them classic at the time, but they are now. My ire was toward those thinking Weezer and like bands as classic rock and roll.

...well, I admit to not doing it for Should I Stay or Should I Go in my expert vocal tour. I was getting tired of trying that song. I quite literally sang it more than 20 times, failing every time, until I decided to "laaaaaa laaaaaaa" my way through it. :D Every other song I've sung the real words though. Yes, including Sabotage. I know people like cheating on that. I do surprisingly well somehow on it.

Classic rock did indeed exist in the seventies and the eighties....and Back In Black, The Wall, Hi Infidelity, Boston and the like were pretty much examples of instant classics the day they hit the shelves.
Or if you'd prefer, songs that classic rock stations played right away. The category of "classic rock" is not technically a genre. It was invented by radio programmers in the 70s to sell music. If you want to harp on that...those stations played all the latest grunge stuff in the 90s just like many play Fallout Boy and My Chemical Romance today.
The bands that comprise so-called classic rock span multiple genres from british blues-based rock to progressive to surf music to heavy metal etc. Musicians usually hate having to say what genre they belong to...but "classic rock" isn't something you'd usually hear any so called classic rock artist calling themselves.
Frankly I could care less about the term "classic rock." My bone was with your contention of what defined a classic. And you oddly complained about my also referring to movies when you also used cars (and google "There Will Be Blood" and classic and you will get over 900,000 results if you want to play detective).
And jeez prove me wrong with Greil Marcus, Lester Bangs or Robert Christgau....not wikipedia and about.com. If you took the time to read more at the site you'd find differing opinions to those of the illustrious David White of About.com. There was an interesting poll which was related to the article you picked out.
Anyway I'm sorry for using film or getting you riled up. But, seriously, in your opinion then in what year did Boston's self-titled album qualify for "classic rock" status? The album came out in 1976. Do you really think that it wasn't until 2001 that it qualified?

This sure got your panties in a twist. You left out the last part of my last post saying this subject is subjective, as is all "pet peeves". No, when I graduated in 85 Bostons' first album was not considered "classic". I know "classic" is not a genre and I know why the term was invented. Pink Floyds the "Wall" was classic in 85? I think not. It was good music yes but classic...uh no.
What pissed me off was your "pet peeve" was a direct attack on me not my definition as you now claim. If you disagree with me, then you state your opinion (as I stated mine) and then if you can find corroborating sites, post them. If you want my opinion rebutted by the names you mentioned, find there statements and post them. Otherwise, name dropping is whistling in the wind. Don't dismiss my research because you don't like the website. I commend you on your memory though. Remembering what stations played and what they called it when you were between the ages of 1 and 11. Good job.
A classic is something that stands the test of time regardless of artist. Led Zeppelin II is a classic, Led Zeppelin Coda, not a classic. In order to stand the test of time, time has to pass. Where will Weezer be in 40 years?

Mine's just the fact that "easy" mode on the guitar/bass is more worthy of being called "very easy" mode, whilst "medium" is more worthy of being called "easy" mode since it is so easy, whilst hard mode is more of a medium mode than anything else, and expert mode really is more like hard mode, while there isn't really a true expert mode featured esp compared to GH II and III. Like in "In Bloom" there aren't even any power chords displayed to play in medium mode which kinda makes easy mode pretty reduntant. It won't happen because it would take an incredible amount of effort and tweaking to everything which has already been done, but, idealistically, and for the longetivity of the game, I think the difficulty modes should be readjusted while another mode is added to add extra difficulty beyond "expert" mode.

You've obviously never seen totally inept people try to play guitar. They'll make Easy look like me trying to play "Thrasher" on expert (I don't own the song, but I'm sure it'd be my only 3* on guitar if I were lucky enough to pass).

Expert is tough enough for me. I don't need anything more difficult added to the mix, thank you. Maybe when I can pass the final tier on expert with 5 stars on each song I'll think differently, but since I can't pass ANY of them yet, and don't know if I ever will, I don't need anything harder in the game, and I don't think many other people do either.

good sir. Please dont confuse difficulty with a song being overcharted.
Sorry rock band doesnt stand up to your desire for a rediculous flurry of notes that dont belong on screen.
Get guitar hero:WT, hell, im sure at some point they'll even chart hitting your sticks together on the snare pad or something rediculous like that for the drums. I can only imagine what the guitar will play like...

Want to know something hilarious? My boyfriend plays female characters only. He figures he wants to make a character he enjoys looking at, you know? He gets hit on by guys sometimes. Sometimes I wish my boyfriend would plug in a headset to freak these guys out. :p
You boyfriend is awesome. I tend to find the perves populate rock band in a much smaller ratio than CoD4. The guys on there...phew...its almost x rated sometimes.

i hate ppl who play like p*****s and sit there at 99% on medium in every damn song and refuse to do hard (or hard to expert).
Unfortunately, the jump from medium to hard is VERY large. I can 99% most songs on medium but I can't even finish (get more than 30% of the way through, even) most of those same songs on hard. In fact, I'll make that my first pet peeve, the jump in difficulty from medium to hard is too large (on guitar/bass).
My other pet peeves would be the PS3 being a red-headed stepchild and people who think everything they ever want from future versions of Rock Band can (and/or will) be implemented in free patches.

The only thing that annoys about the Guitar Career is the solo's of the last five songs which I fail everytime on Expert (and on hard for Green Grass/High Tides)
I usually fail at the point where I am just about finish a really fast part of a solo. Those last songs (and the entire Easy career which I also struggle at) are all that is stopping me from finishing the Guitar Solo Tour.

Pet Peeve? Players who have been on the game long enough to fuss about how bad we new players are cause we can't play as well as they do. Some of us have jobs, kids, lives, and can't work through the charts 24/7. I might be a noob, but it is only a game!
As to not seeing your favourite song listed as a DLC from one week to the next, be patient and enjoy what you got. Just be glad you have access to such a great game. There are many worldwide who have never even seen a TV, let alone any kind of game console or music game to go with it.

After last night, "random people you meet in online play" is now #1 (or so) on my list.
It was me (guitar) and my online drummer, and we were looking to at least get another guitarist (since finding a vocalist at any time is tough enough, but at midnight PST? Fugheddaboutit).
Got a guitarist, scroll through the list of songs...and either he bought every song that I didn't have (drummer has all, I have 47), or he didn't have any DLC. Relented and hit Random Song a couple of times and got Highway Star. We all played expert, and as usual I bomb the solo (I can't get better than low 80s), but I still beat him overall in accuracy (94 vs. 90-something). Next was Dani Califorina, I switch to bass, and he's definitely struggling on guitar. Solo was only 77%, and I think overall he was in the low 80s. I did kind of a dick thing and said we had someone else waiting (lie) and kicked him.
"Find Players" again. Got someone with a few DLC tracks. Picked a song, hey, WTF he left. Back out, try again, same damn thing happens. Third time we get a guitarist, this one doesn't leave, but again, not a single goddamn download (and just like the last guy, not even Still Alive). Pick Detroit Rock City, he goes to bass...on easy...ok, as long as he doesn't suck too bad...except for the fact that he does. I've seen people play really really badly at this, but 80% when you're hitting at most a note per second? This performance was not a fluke because he would've failed himself out 3 times on I Think I'm Paranoid if I hadn't rescued him. I don't know why, but I decided to keep playing with the guy for one last song in Welcome Home. This convinced me the guy had to have been seriously drunk and possibly on other drugs, because the song is 99% "hit the green note once per second" on Easy, and he still convinced me that I should've been playing both parts at the same time like a multi-limbed Bugs Bunny.
I need to get more people on my friend's list for this game.

Okay, looks like its been a while so I can add...
Pet peeve in progress: Okay, this happened the other night while playing online. I was hooked up with a group and some people were playing above the level of what they are capable of and were going downhill fast, sometimes they’d struggle and come so close to finishing the song. But before bombing out (this happened more than once) they would quit the song and select another, then quit that one if they were failing and try another. Isn’t that what the ‘change difficulty’ option is for? I am all up for people giving themselves a challenge, but that was really annoying. After the 3rd log out to select another song I quit on them. Hopefully that won’t happen again soon. I play for fun online and am normally easy going, just some things you want to reach through the TV and smack them around.

The rampant ps3 racism shown by harmonix and the like.
People who make dumb statements like this are a pet peeve of mine.
Also, people who get pissed when I fail a song on hard. I will not go to medium because I don't want to stop practicing with my pinky. So we failed a song, there's others to try. I will eventually get better.
People who complain about the DLC not being their cup of tea. I don't care if you don't like it. I do. I like all of the stuff HMX gives me to play. If you don't like it, don't buy it, but shut up already.
My brother in law who buys a widescreen TV, then *****es because his Full Screen movies don't look right (He insists on buying full screen DVD's because, and I quote "I want them to fill the screen". When I set them to pillar box so the people aren't deformed, he says I did it wrong. Dick.
PS3s download/install system is annoying, and my brother in law is ungrateful when I get him songs for his PS3, WITH MY CREDIT CARD.

Pet Peeve 2794:
Online drummers that feel compelled to beat on their drums after the song is over but before the frets end. This causes them to fail even though the song is over. It doesn't affect the score and it wouldn't bother me in the least, except for the ungodly sound effect that the failure invokes.

-DLC Crusaders- Okay guys I understand your pain, but calm down. Some people just got the game, some people got the game as a gift (in which being unable or unwilling to part with +$200 of extra songs makes a lot more sense) and are probably younger and jobless, and some are more picky with their MS points. Let them be, stop searching for players in quicplay, join dlcquickplay.com and stop complaining so much. Jesus. Triply so for those who essentially just downloaded the Metallica pack- now you're just mad at peope for not having your tastes in music. Build a bridge.
-Every time you play through a song, no matter where in the list, it goes back to the first 'new' song in solo play.
-Vocal Training aka Karaoke Mode
-Every time I switch instruments my online status is reset and people realize I'm on, especially when I'm not in the mood to deal with them.
-Serial inviting. I'm either coming or ignoring you. If it does get lost I'll message you. I only need one.

2) People who play on wayy too hard of a difficulty (like failing 3 times every song, not failing on difficult songs every now and again
3) No Cake DLC
4)People who, when they aren't leader, start screaming right away for something "Welcome Home, Welcome Home, come on, Welcome Home!!"
5)People who don't even have at least SOME DLC (come on like 4-5 songs is alot to ask for?)
5a) People who don't even have the free downloads..they're not great..but come on..they're free
6) 12 year old kids who are really good expert players but will berate someone for just picking hard, or not doing well on expert...it's like dude, you rely on your parents for everything and can't even get a job..GFY

But since you meet condition #5, you'd still be OK. :)
I do echo the frustration of playing with people that don't have any or a few DLC songs. Without the DLC, you get stuck playing the same 4-5 songs in the main setlist. There are only so many times you can play "Dani California", "Welcome Home", and "Enter Sandman" before you want to play anything else.

Well, when I do run into non-DLC people I play/suggest oft overlooked or undersplayed songs on the main setlist.
And I still don't think Dani California's overplayed. I haven't played that song in a good 3 weeks at least. All the last tier songs are played more than Dani California. Enter Sandman is only commonly picked when a drummer leads.

Dani California used to be overplayed. I haven't played it in a million years now.
I kinda miss the solo.
