[QUOTE]Future self paradox.
Okay, shortly after William begins stalking Jake, some weird stuff starts to happen. One of these is that whenever Jake is hurt or injured (either mentally or physically) William will feel it as well. So for example, if Jake is punched in the nose and gets a nosebleed, William will suddenly feel a sharp pain in his nose and his nose will bleed, or if Jake gets kicked in the balls, William feels intense pain in his groin. Why is this? It's because William is Jake's future self! which means that if Jake is injured William feels it as well

William's Backstory
William is dead... and therefore can do anything he wants to. the name change from Jake to William is caused by an attempted murder on Jake in early January 2013. For safety issues, he changed his name to William. But in mid-August 2013 another murder is attempted... Success... William is now dead and roams the Earth as a ghost. He does, however have amnesia now due to being dead and will periodically experience a brief flashback uncovering his past self and how he died piece by piece. He now has to try and help Jake survive because he knows somehow that Jake's time isn't up yet. But the darker side of him tells him to kill Jake. William does attempt to do both, however. In the film, this backstory is shown through flashbacks of William's final hours.

The Identity of Jake's Killer
In the end of the movie, it is discovered in a flashback that Zack is Jake's killer. And (in the future) the a member of an organization of 'Kid Police' to get cops into schools and churches and such without scaring the people there, and Zack does well enough to rise up to being second-in-command of this division of the police. Wanting complete control, he and several other cops from the division split off to hunt down Jake, finding him in 2010.

**Spoiler alert**

It sounds interesting, and it seems like you've put a lot of thought into it. It would be interesting to see the finished project.

However, the element of the "future self" doesn't make any sense. If William is Jake from the future, then fine. But if Jake gets injured, that would not, in fact, injure William because from William's standpoint, that event has already happened, in the past. And if William in any way influences an injury to Jake (such as punching him in the nose), he still would not receive that injury, even though it never technically happened to him in the past. That which you study, you also change. Just by William being present in the past, he has altered it. So while these events have never technically happened to him, he is altering the past in such a way that they have now happened. And if you take the multiple worlds standpoint, then by William injuring Jake he has created an alternate timeline in which he injured Jake (in which case he still would not sustain an injury).

While it is an interesting concept, there are other ways you could reveal that William is Jake from the future. Time travel by its very nature requires a suspension of disbelief from the audience. But it still needs to be within a believable framework so the audiene feels that it could happen.

Anyway, if you do go through with the project you should definitely provide a link so that we can check it out when it's ready for public view.

A 2 and a half hour sci-fi/action film?

How big is the script? How big is your crew? Is the whole thing storyboarded in fdetail? What are you shooting on? Have you done a full budget break down? Who's doing all the CGI and practical effects? I could go on and on.

It takes an extremely dedicated and experienced team of people months (full time+) to film anything on the scale of your feature, even at a Blair Witch/Cloverfield quality. Have you guys worked together before making short films?

Unless I'm assuming completely wrong about your amount of training and experience in producing feature films, this project will never be realised. Everyone on the team (at least 20 ppl, even for a tiny, tiny film) needs to have this film as their top priority for the entire duration. Unless your paying everyone involved and they have incentive to stay it'll just fall apart and you'll be left with a few scenes filmed.

I'm working on a 40 minute short drama (generally the easiest/fastest genre to film). It's taken a team of people (maybe 45-50?) to get it to where it is and about $15,000, with non of that money going towards paying anyone. It had about 4 months of intense pre-production, 2 weeks shooting time and has been in post for a few months. All this was made by people who have Uni/College training and years of expereince working in the film/tv industry. Even this project was considered pretty ballsy.

Again, I'm not sure of your experience level, but my advice would be to make a few short films, bout 5 minutes each, and go from there.

I was gonna post something like this, but with one crappy Avant-Garde short film too my name, doesn't give me much room to talk

but he's right, even if you do know what you're doing there is no way a project of this size will come out during the summer

Very interesting story, but as others have said, 2 and 1/2 hours in three months?
