PS3 to PS2

Okay, so here's my story: My mom bought me the Rock Band bundle for PS3 but I have a PS2. Smart mom, eh? So I'm wondering if I can use the Rock Band ps3 instruments for my PS2. I have Guitar Hero Two and two Guitar Hero guitars. I read this, "

A: This depends. For PS3 owners no (but PS2 owners can and they may also use PS3 instruments). Absolutely no GH guitars will work with Rock Band under any circumstance. For Xbox 360 owners your X-Plorer or Les Paul will do just fine. You will not get the effects or the "tapping" in solos though." But this confused me. It says ps2 owners can use guitar hero guitars and ps3 instruments, I think. But then the very next sentence says, "Absolutely no GH guitars will work with Rock Band under any circumstance." So any help? Thanks.

why does your GH matter?

the simple thing is that:: PS3 uses Blu-ray discs, something your ps2 cannot accept, and rock band guitars dont work on GH, and guitar hero is guitar hero, so you can't use drums or vocals...

idk about the gh guitar but take the ps3 game to a store and switch it for a ps2 game and your set.

Owned. Buy just the game for the PS2 and a generic powered hub, use all the devices that came with the PS3 bundle and ebay your unopened PS3 game only.

Actually, switch the games and keep the guitar hero controllers, they work fine on Rock Band. This was you can use the two GH controllers in the controller ports and use the drums and mic in the usb ports of the PS2. No wasted money on the USB Hub. This is what I'm doing and it works amazingly well.

Ok, so after fighting with the desk clerk for thirty minutes, I finally got the PS2 game. I'm lovin the guitar and drums, but when I plug in the mic to my PS2, it's like it doesn't exist. I'm playing with my dad and my sister wants to join the band, but the mic won't work. Any suggestions?

To get the mic to "join" you have to use a wired controller as stated above because the mic doesn't have any buttons to use.
