360 - Can't accept invite and can't get friends to join.

When my buddy sends me an invite (I'm on drums, he's on guitar) and I accept, nothing happens. No matter which screen I'm on (the main menu, in the solo career, etc), just nothing happens. The same happens when I send him an invite. The only thing we can think of is that I have some downloadable songs and he doesn't. Any idea what's going on?

Xbox Live has been having troubles on and off for the past few days including some today. This may or may not be the problem.

It has nothing to do with downloadable songs. When you play online if all players have the dlc then you can play it. If you have dlc but your friend doesn't then your list it is faded so you can't select it.

Good, I thought I was the only one with this problem. I have no idea how to fix it, but I called Xbox Live tech support, and they said to open ports:
UDP 88, 3074
TCP 3074
I already had those open, so that was no help.

Bummer. Hopefully when the Xbox Live issues are cleared up my buddy and I will be able to join each others' games.

I'm guessing it is a network issue.

I have had no problems getting invites on my xbox 360 live acct

I just tired it again a couple days ago and it worked fine.
