I just downloaded about 10 songs onto my 360 HDD and then brought it over to my friends house to play those songs. I just brought the HDD thinking that it should work, but when we tried to play those downloaded songs, we couldn't find them. My friend doesn't have a wired internet connection, just wireless and I don't have the wireless adapter. Do you need to be actually signed into Xbox live to play those songs? If so, that's pretty stupid, they're downloaded to my profile and my profile is on the HDD and I still can't play the songs!

I haven't tried to do what you're doing, but I think that the RB downloadable songs are like most other things you buy on Xbox Live Marketplace in that they are tied to the combination of your specific 360 and your gamertag. If you have the HDD connected to YOUR exact 360 and logged in with your gamertag, the songs will be there even if your 360 is offline. But if you plug your HDD into another person's 360, the only way you can see them is if you log into YOUR gamertag and your buddy's 360 is online. But if your buddy's 360 is offline OR logged in with a different gamertag, you won't be able to see the songs you put on the HDD.
