Alright, so I've had my PS2 on for 2 days straight with Rock Band running the whole time. Today I was doing a song on the drums and the game froze for the first time ever. I restarted my console and now it freezes 3/4 of the time while a song is loading. I don't see any noticeable scratches anywhere on the disc. Will this stop after a while or should I buy a new disc? I played the game for the first time on the 24th if it helps at all.

Did you try any other games? Perhaps the system justs need some time to cool down...

I'm playing on ps3 and have frezing problem as well, but mine freezes 100% of the time always at the samespot. When I try to play world tour (multi-player or solo), the screen freezes as soon as any band member selects "Join".

My game freezes on my ps2 also, certain songs wont even start and it ALWAYS freezes on the Don't fear the reaper song! I called them and they told me I have to get a new playstation, I think we are getting scammed! We all spent enough money on this thing to get something that works! I just got the game a week ago and it froze the first time I played it!

I would never leave a console running for two days straight. That causes components to overheat. Maybe it's fine and doesn't harm the system, but paying for electricity also has part to do with it.

Check your other games first. See if your system freezes on these. If it doesn't, I would be RMA'ing the game.

i'm having the same problem with my PS2. my game freezes up when we hit the Get in The Limo stage. my game didn't have any scratches on it or anything. i called EA to see if other people were having problems and what i could do about it. EA told me to try a few things: replace the memory card, clean the disk, try the disk in another PS2, and return the disk to where i bought it. so we tried a different memory card. still freezing up. so we cleaned the disk and bought air spray to clean out the system. still freezing up. then we took the whole set up to a friend's house to try on his system. still freezing up. we took it back to the store. GameStop was nice enough to replace the disk. still freezing up. it's always at the same stage. we've been planning a Rock Band party since Xmas now, but i don't want a house full of people and a game that won't work. any ideas as how to fix it?
P.S.- we got a ton of games for Xmas and all of them work fine.

Sorry if you've already tried this, but have you checked the trouble shooting on this thread?

If that hasn't resolved it use the warranty process for a replacement (there is a link to the software warranty at the bottom of the post).

im also experiencing some game freezing when i play. well i played Rock Band last week and while it was saving it suddenly froze. now my 360 is toast ( red ring of death and it freezes after a few minutes no matter what game i play)
i lent rock band to my friend and it froze on him a couple times as well.
whats going on here? i only bought the game a few months ago and it worked perfectly up until last week
( i highly doubt the game caused my xbox to screw up)
