So, no word yet on the next round of DLC for New Year's Day '08. Anyone have any ideas of what could be next? Any word from HMX about an official announcement or another planned DLC schedule for the coming weeks?
My Christmas prediction of the Who's Next album never panned out and instead we got five well priced but underwhelming additions to the RB setlist. I'm not going to dis 99-cent DLC or 5 new tracks - Harmonix has been doing a great job so far - but here's hoping this next round is a little more quality than what we saw on Dec. 25.
I have great faith in HMX and have a strong feeling we'll see some pretty sweet DLC next week. Thoughts?

Rock Band needs some AC/DC so badly.... plz HMX, get the licensing done.

Hoping for things like Who's Next or Nevermind will only lead to high expectations. It's better to just have faith in Harmonix, regardless of the DLC there will be at least one consumer segment that will be satisfied.

Probably those 3 contest winners songs though hopefully something else to go with it.

I would be very surprised if the contest winners came this soon, as the contest just occurred and no way has HMX already charted those songs. They probably haven't even received the master recordings, assuming they exist. It should be a few months at least before those come out.
I'm gonna guess some sort of hard rock/metal, as that demographic seems vocally under appreciated so far.
Although personally, I hope us jambanders finally get some of those 18 Grateful Dead songs we've been waiting anxiously for. How about a Scarlet Begonias, Franklin's Tower, Terrapin Station, 3-pack? One can only dream.

So you're going to do it again? Seriously, everyone hyped up "Who's Next?" for a Christmas release and complained about the five tracks (Which were even half-price!) since it wasn't "Who's Next?". Harmonix never said there would be an amazing list of DLC on Christmas, and they haven't done the same about New Year's either. Like Foolosophy said, just be patient and wait for the DLC to come.
This last sentence is for everyone: Hyping everything up with no knowledge whatsoever of what's to come will only lead to disappoint, and there's only you to blame -- it's not HMX's fault you were disappointed on Christmas, and it's not going to be their fault if you're disappointed on New Year's Day either.

I'm going to make a hedge-my-bets guess and say two 3-packs, including one genre we haven't seen as DLC yet.

no clue since Xmas's releases weren't expected... however I liked that fact that they were 80 pts each. sweet deal since I love the Sounds, and kinda like 30 seconds and my gf loves the All American Reject songs.
all I can say is keep it up.
my gh3 has been collecting dust ever since. and I've spent like $20+ on DLC so far.

This is a list I found on Wikipedia. It has release dates and upcoming DLC for the game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band#

The Emo section was very small before those 5 were released. Assuming Harmonix wants to expand genres with little representation, I'm hoping for a true Prog pack, though I would be even more excited if HMX released a Rush pack.
i like to see some Gensis in the Prog rock tier

I have no problem with some of the newer DLC. For an old 38 year old fart like me it's fun to be exposed to new music.
But it's time to BRING OUT THE DEAD !!!!!!!!

I'm fairly confident that we won't be seeing an full albums DLC for New Years mainly because they would have most likely released it on Christmas. I say this because I'm pretty sure their offices were like a ghost town the past week therefore they had little to no opportunity to work on anything.
I predict a 3-pack of songs and 1-2 single tracks for New Years. As for what it could be, your guess is as good as mine...

I highly doubt it's gonna be full albums because I feel like they'd announce it in advance. For christmas, I thought maybe they'd surprise us because it's a present holiday so maybe HMX would give us our own present. They did, but just not in the way I suspected.
That's not to say I don't hope it's full albums. I'm dying to play Who's Next, I'm just realistic that it probably won't happen this Tuesday. (Though I do remember reading that it was gonna be released in Early '08 and technically Tuesday is Early '08)
I'm thinking either the first three pack featuring Dead songs, or some other suprise. There hasn't been a pack in two weeks so I feel like some sort of pack's coming.

If Full Albums aren't going to come completely unexpectedly there is NO WAY that Zeppelin suddenly shows up on XBL. I want it as badly as the next guy, I just expect a press release when the deal is finally struck.
That said, I also expect it to happen for Rock Band 2. It will come at the same time as a new guitar, new game, new something. It would be too big of a sales swing, to just drop it out of nowhere.

I think you're overestimating the selling power of DLC.
