So.. I have used the band hero drums, and the rock band drums and frankly they both kinda suck.

I think I like the band hero drums a little better, but they are failing on me.. after only about 3 weeks worth play they are failing and no longer picking up the hits and even moderate to hard pressure.. At this point they are trash.. (Only 3 weeks.. and already trash.. )

And to add insult to injury the Band Hero support blows so I wont be getting another one of their drum kits.. ("is the drum sensitivity not enough? Try hitting the pad harder.. " OH gee thanks.. Just disgusting.. )

But the RB drums aren't that great either..

Are there other options? Thoughts?

Thanks.

It never hurts to try out the most popular third-party drum kit: ION Drum Rocker (https://www.drumrocker.com/).

We can't give you our thoughts and opinions on what other drum kits there are out there. It has to be up to your comfort and playability with them.

If it helps, try going to the music store and testing out their V-Drum and E-Drum kits. Many of them have a MIDI port for you to plug into a Guitar Hero Drum Controller or ION Drum Module to play on your console with. They may be complicated to configure, but if you got it down, along with finding your favorite kit, you may have yourself a very personal and original drum setup compared to other RB/GH drum players.

Either that, or you can repair and mod your drum controllers you already have now. There's plenty of ways to fix or amp up your controllers, and plenty of reasons you shouldn't be afraid of voiding your warranties.

I think the Guitar Hero/Band Hero Drum Controllers have a sensitivity adjustment feature. But you gotta buy a MIDI USB Cable or this thing (http://www.guitarherostore.com/Game-Controllers/Drum-Controllers/Guitar-Hero-Drum-Controller-Pro-Tuner-Kit).

As for the RB Drums, you're gonna need replacement pads and sensors. Some are mesh, like GoodWoodMods and MetalWorkz. Some are neoprene heads, like XCELL.

The possibilities are endless: http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3030

Yeah Oddbrother's answer is awesome and exactly what you need palamedes.

There are a significant number of upgrade options and paths for you with limitless potential (other than your wallet :-P)

Do some searching at ScoreHero, Doc's Mods, and even some more here and you'll get some knowledgeable help, info, and ideas from other players.

I went from the RB1 drums to RB2 drums, and now a Drum Rocker myself. That's right, not only am I the prez of NEMS, I'm also a client lol

Just picked up a used set of IONS. They're simply a much better peripheral and they're an exceptional value considering the modest price.

Quite honestly, they really make the game a lot more immersive and fun.

el_Bobbo sells them and as a recent customer, I'd highly recommend you check out his store. http://www.NewEnglandMusicSupply.com
