Is this a new problem with the Xbox RB Guitar?

I've played the guitar a few days since I got it for Christmas, but I turned it on today, and there was no power to the guitar at all. This is the standard guitar (fender strat) that came with the game. The green controller button near the white start and back buttons won't even register. No light-up, no recognition by the console, nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? I tried a different USB port on the controller and nothing. I tried to plug it directly into the console, and nothing. The mic and the drums all connect fine, but the guitar has gotten fried somehow. Does anyone have any suggestions or is this another common problem I haven't read about yet?

Any help would be really appreciated.

same exact thing happened to me...i'm thinking about just getting a guitar hero controller,it seems like it would be alot easier and its wireless too...ihope it works.i'll keep you updated if i find a way to fix it
