I haven't looked yet, and I'm not home right now (or else I would be playing), but is there a way to record a performance?

If not, then this should definitely be in the next game (hopefully titled "Funk Band" and including a keyboard).

No, there is not.

Considering the performances are pre-scripted, I'm not sure there would be anything to record. It's more like the performances are already recorded...except for the voice.

I do wish there was a mode to record a DVD-esque video of your band's performance, and watch it later.

When you play each song, the video is exactly the same except for the characters you choose. Play Orange Crush more than once and you'll notice it goes to black and white at exactly the same part.

But if you play a really hard song and get 100% on expert, you should be able to show your friends after.

Just take a snapshot of your 100% accomplishment.

That's not the same though. I mean, why watch a movie when I can just ask somebody how it ends...

You gotta have the video of the entire performance. That way you can hear the music, and see the notes streaming down/words streaming across.

well if its the notes and stuff you wanna see, i thought u meant like the actual stuff that goes on in the background (like a live in stockholm typa video) but if you just wanna record, go get a DVR or a DVD recorder...they're like 100 bucks now.

but...you already know exactly what it's going to look like...

I dunno. only recording that makes sense is a video so you can actually *see* someone play, IMO.

You can get a GameBridge for like, $15. It'll let you hook up any game console to your computer through USB and record videos. Only problem is, you have to get splitters and hook it up to a TV as well to be able to avoid having any lag. (Don't ask me for any technical details, I don't know. :p) That's what a lot of good GH and RB vids you see on Youtube are made with.

But yeah, if you want to record your performances to watch later that's probably the best way, short of getting a capture card. I got me one for Christmas. :D

Yeah, I think I need to get a capture card or something.

For the record- I have several DVR's but they're built into my Directv receivers. I have several DVD recorders but they're built into my computers (for the people who said to get a DVR or DVD burner).

And the reason I would want to record the notes is to show the actual performance. I want to hear the music, and see the notes being nailed. There are some games out there now that let you record your performance and replay it later (Project Gotham Racing comes to mind) so I was just wondering if this game had it too. As many videos as there are on youtube, I know I'm not the only one interested in recording/watching it.

That game bridge sounds like a good idea though. I'll have to look for one. Or maybe I'll just go on and get a USB capture card like a Dazzle or something...

the person who mentioned a DVD recorder didn't mean a dvd burner- they meant a recorder that works like the old VCRs did, but with DVDs
