Is this a known issue? Just bought one used online and the solo buttons work fine, but the buttons higher up on the next don't register at all; menus, in song, nothing. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

well since you got it used, I'mpretty sure the person who sold it to you knew about it. I'd check out docsrockbandmods.com. There is a forum over there, and someone should be able to help you fix it. It could be anything from, but they will give you the best advise to correct it as best as possible.

It's complicated; the person I bought it from got it from a distributor and it was a complete set, but I only wanted the bass. Thanks for the suggestion; will see what I can do with a screwdriver this weekend.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem, however my Hofner is 100% store-bought new.

I bought the LE full band set and everything works fine apart from the bass. I called EA and their only response was "box the whole lot up and take it back to the store". Not helpful, a lot of goodwill lost there.

Well, the store is 40 miles and an hour's train ride away and the set weighs about 40lbs, so that's not likely. I called the shop and the manager was far more helpful, offering to seek out a replacement, so I could just bring the guitar itself back. However...

The entire chain of stores has no more LE sets available. The only two left in the company also contain a faulty bass....

So, to EA: What if anything are you going to do about this issue?

To the RB community: Does anyone have a step-by-step guide to fixing the problem?

Fixed my Hofner!

It's pretty simple:

- Pop the back of the main body off (there are a lot of screws and I suggest keeping track of where each one came from)

- Be careful when taking the back off as it is attached to the front half by a length of cable

- There should be a little bunch of cables coming out of the neck where it meets the body; about eight or so of varying colours. Trace these to their little white connector on the PCB

- The connector in mine was only halfway plugged in, so I just pushed it in properly

- Reattach back

- Rock out!

My Hofner now works perfectly. Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
