pedal triggering red pad - rb2 drum kit

When I press down on the pedal it triggers the red pad and if I keep holding the pedal down it will keep triggering the the red randomly. Also if I hit the red pad while the pedal is down it doesn't register my hit. All the other pads are ok. Pressing down on D-pad registers as down and ps button (up,left, right are ok)

Has anyone come across this problem?
