Select Bass?

Sorry, did a search, went through the 3 pages that popped up and no dice. I know this is a stupid easy answer, but how does one select to play bass in the tour mode? We can't figure out how to move it from default lead guitar. Yes we only have 1 guitar. The instruction manual is no help nor google. Sorry for our ineptitude and thanks for the assistance in advance.

You choose between guitar and bass when you start a set (before selecting a difficulty).

Once you select the song or setlist to play, you can strum up and down between bass and guitar.
