You're not the first one this has happened to. Send it back to Harmonix and they'll hook you up with a new one.

There is a thread somewhere to purchase a wooden pedal to replace it, may be faster than waiting on a new complete?

... how awkward... don't your feet get all tore up walking around all the time with no shoes on? I like to wear shoes when I go outside, takes the sting out of the gravel driveway... but to each his own :p
lol, and I haven't busted mine yet (knock on wood)

1) there's no need for a double bass in RB, they ignore most of the double bass notes that are too fast.
2) They'll send you a replacement and you can choose not to send your old pedal back, but it'll cost you $150.
3) the headphone double bass mod sucks, you cannot depress either pedal to allow the other one to score a note... so in other words you've got to keep both feet up in the air off the pedal at almost all times.
4) that would be fraudulent and dishonest... bad karma.

While you're waiting for a replacement drum pedal, you could go with the...
SPATULA MOD!
Just break the head off a big, metal, burget-flipper and tie-wrap that sucker down to the two broken parts.

I took a piece of masonite wood and fiberglassed that sucker onto the pedal. it has a nice smooth resin finish and that thing is NOT going to break EVER!

broke mine too. messed up a great band online too! I wasn't wearing shoes and rarely did. I think foot placement is key. Even though you have more control farther forward, i think that was the problem.

I love those people who reply "dont wear shoes!" or "Dont stomp so hard..."
Mdouet, When you finish easy, then medium, and the get half way into Hard then come back here and ask me how I fixed my kick pedal...

I'm curious too as to what option to pick, mine has a huge crack at the base, its not snapped in half yet, but it will be pretty soon... and the fact its at the back really makes it not able to repair, I went to the warrenty site and theres no options close to it... I'm curious what everyone else clicked and was told, because although I baby the heck out of it--- seems like something EA could refuse to replace because of saying we were out of control stomposhing all over it.

LMAO! And here I thought I was "innovative" when I created a splint using a butter knife, an ink pen, and about a thousand rubber bands. GENIUS!!!! I will try this one until my wood one arrives in the mail.

I have 2 bass pedals, both modified with diamond plating.
I keep them both hooked up at all times, but rarely use the 2nd.
I use the headphone splitter jack. And you are correct that if 1 pedal is down the other will not read. But the problem isn't as bad as you may think. While you are playing double bass your feet alternate from each other anyway. As long as you don't keep your 2nd foot on the pedal while not using it. It isn't so bad. I keep both pedals hooked to the metal bar the original pedal does, just on opposite sides. It keeps them far enough apart where you can use them, but uncomfortable enough, to not make it a habit.
There is indefinably a need for double bass for me on Expert mode. I can play every song on hard 95+ % usually. I have been playing drums for 15+ years. I'm not so young anymore and have bad ankle rom the military.
Some of the songs I couldn't pass on expert without double bass, now I can pass. I really don;t care what anyone thinks, I'm just glad it works for me. And I enjoy using it. Not to mention it looks pretty f*ing cool!
