Pre-ordered GH3 for the PS3 on October 5th and picked it up on the 28th. After a week of trying to calibrate everything and even hooking it up to a CRT TV with nothing extra involved i came to the realization the it is a disturbingly bad build of the game. I know this because I also bought the PS2 version for as Christmas gifts for my younger neice and nephew. It plays flawlessly on the PS2. I did not attempt to return the GH3 because of the expected Rock Band Compatibitilty. Then that falls through... but there is hope for a patch so I still hold on to it. Well apparently that is falling through as well. It is now well after the generally accepted return policy. I'm sure this story is very familiar to many of you sitting at home with Les Paul shaped Doorstops. Well, I just happen to be lucky enough to know a "Customer Experience Manager" at the major retailer where i purchased GH3. Explained my situation, and he told me that generally it is considered open software and not returnable. But he took care of me and let me return it anyway for an in-store gift card, which as far as i am concerned is as good as cash. So my story has a happy ending and Activision can suck it. But more to the point, I encourage everyone who is truly unhappy with the situation to go talk to management where they bought their GH3 bundle and see what they can do. Be polite and courteous and maybe they will help you. Do not let them tell you that it is impossible, because it IS possible.
