I have a question about the downloadable songs on xbox live.

I read in a thread that the xbox has to log into live to verify that the same live ID trying to load the extra content was the same ID that downloaded the songs.

does this mean you have to be logged into xbox live to play the downloaded songs? if so that sucks. I can download the songs elsewhere, but I have no xbox live at my house, so there would be no point in downloaded them if this is the case.

no you don't have to be logged in(read:connected to the net) to play the songs. While I wait to get a router, I just take the modem and stuff from my computer, hook it up to my Xbox, download what I want...and then take it back off. Everything plays fine. All that matters is that the live ID that downloaded the songs is still available.

Thanks Lethal.

I read the same thread and have the same situation as Aerozepplin, and was wondering the same thing....

Yeah you're probably talking about my post in that other thread, and you're right, I worded it kinda confusingly...

You don't have to be signed in to Live to play DLC. But if you are signed into Live, it'll try to do some kind of authentication, which can cause issues/delays with RB loading if Live is acting up.

You have to be: SIGNED INTO LIVE or... playing offline with the console you purchased the content with.

Ahh, thanks Adam. That answeres what I was gonna ask. Since all my downloaded songs aren't working on a friends box, with my HD. I need to go get mine I guess.
