Hey ya'll, I'm new to this from Canada, just thaught I'd throw my 2 cents in!

I personally would like to see some more common hits that we have heard here in Canada/US that were really popular during the 90's-Present.

I don't seem to find there are to many punk/rock songs on the list from that era.

Maybe if they throw some Smash mouth, Sum 41, Blink 182, (I would love to see Hedley) Nickelback, bands like that perhaps?

Here are a few suggestions of my own!

1. Blink 182- All the Small Things
2. Hedley- On my own
3. Nickelback & Kid Rock- Saturday Night
4. School of Rock & Jack Black (I saw this suggestion elsewhere, love it!)
5. Smash Mouth- I'm A beleiver
6. Lenny Kravitz- Fly
7. Daughtry- It's not over
8. Hedley- 321
9. Avril Lavign- Girlfriend
10. Blink 182- Whats my age again
11. Smash Mouth- All Star
12. Avril Lavign- Sk8er Boy
13. Steppenwolf- Born to Be Wild
14. Cheap Trick- I want you to Want me
15. Lynard Skynard- Sweet Home Alabama (I know all bands are tired of this song, but its a good beginner!)
16. Nirvana- Smells like Teen Spirit
17. Blur- Song 2
18. U2- Beautiful Day
19. The Offspring- Pretty Fly for a White Guy
20. Counting Crows- Mr. Jones
21. Goo goo Dolls- Iris
22. Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody
23. Matchbox 20- 3 AM
24. The Police- Message in a Bottle
25. ??- I love Rock and Roll
26. Don McLean- American Pie
27. Aarosmith- Walk this Way
28. Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal
29. Meridith Brooks- *****
30. Bob Segar- Old time of Rock and Roll

Relise I did add a few oldies in there, but they were songs well known to myself and I'm sure are common to others also. I love the singing myself in the game, but would also like to try doing guitar and vocals, wich is kinda hard when you don't know the words.

As I said, I'm new to this, as I'm sure many others are also! Love the game, a good inspiration for musicians everywhere.

No offence to everyone, I admire all peoples oppinions, and I think I speak for alot of people in what they like is their own personal prefrence or oppinion in music.

I do agree with a quote on how some of these songs may be considered easy, true! But as I said, I am new completely to instruments and I do think this game is a good tool to start a beginner get the basic concepts of music in general.

And my taste of music gears more to the rock\punk side, not the heavy metal. Sorry, don't mind it, just a prefrence, and nobody can say they would like to see a song they like in any soundrack, no?

Would however like to see Canadian content for sure! Would be awsome!

Oh, I thought this was going to be a thread showing all the young whippersnappers out there what good music is. Oh well.

I guess those songs are pretty catchy (if you can't say something nice...)

*sigh* This Offends me a slight bit. I'm 12, (My bro and I Share this account) And I Personally hate all of that music.

The fact that you assume that all the younger people that play rock band/Guitar hero series, or are interested in music for that matter, would be interested in this music.

Just because There are kids out there that are complete and utter Lemmings and go with what is "Cool" Doesn't mean we all do. I'm honestly tired of people assuming that we younger Musicians are constantly Following Any Mainstream music, or the Utter crap that alot of kids think is "good" music.

So In other words, Don't assume these kinds of things. You never know what kinds of people Are out there. And By the way, Let me break down The word assume for You. Ass-U-Me. Hope you can uinderstand that.

I'm assuming you're referring to me? Sorry if my comment seemed to oversimplify things. I guess it does. In reality, my little brother is young and digs cool music too, so I know it's not true that all younger people only enjoy crap.

But I think it's a trend. If you look at the posts around here, who is posting this type of music, I think you'll find the vast majority is younger people. It's cool that you're interested in other stuff; spread the gospel.

I am not assuming that any particular group of people would like this music, nor did I state it in that sence either. By a younger rocker, I mean a noob (if you actually read the title of the thread). If you notice most of the songs listed, the majority of them are quite simple for an inspired musician. I myself am very varied on what type of music, and as I said, we all have our own oppinions on what we like.

So please make this a statement, I am not deligating these songs to any age catagory, or anyone for that matter. They are simply a list in wich I would like to see for beginners!

So before you go and bash people comments or oppinions, you should take that into consideration. Thank you!

That's Pretty much what I'm Getting at; That trend Should be broken. SOMEONE has to step up and Stop This Crap, Right?

And Chuck, I may as well be repeating myself, When I See this stuff, I've gotten so tired of people assuming things like that I have to go in and Say something. Sorry if I Was Mistaken, But Again I'm Flat out tired of this Stuff.

Yes, I clearly misunderstood the title of your thread. Sorry bout that. But I'd argue that it's a bit ambiguous (especially the "young" part).

I actually like some of the songs on the list, like Blur and Queen and so forth, for what it's worth.

I aplogise guys, bad choise of words to use, but I hope you understand what I mean now

Yeah, no harm no foul. Actually it's pretty refreshing to have such a rational, non-confrontational discussion.

Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal: this wouldn't be easy if the notes had to be hit one-for-one on the guitar - but it would be good song for RB.

The Beatles or the Monkees would definitely sell. But I know it's really tough to get any kind of licensing for the Beatles, so it seems unlikely...
