The song is requested too much in real life as it is.

I definately do not want to have people coming over, or rock band showing up at some sort of party, and people being like, "Stairway to Heaven. Nobody knows the real lyrics here, but we want to hear the guitar."

I never understood the strong desire for this song....it is long....there isn't enough anything(good guitar, drums, bass...whatever)till near the END.

Why doesn't anyone understand that this would not be good for a game like this or any other music game?

Actually the bassist could play the recorder part and the drummer could just step on the pedal in time with the song untill their actual parts come.

Strong desire because well,it's Stairway. It's on pretty much every best song list ever and ussally in the top 3. I'm sure Harmonix has a strong desire to get it because it'll sell tons and might even sell some more games. Also it'll make GH look even worse.

I agree with those who don't feel that the lack of bass/drums is enough to keep this song out. There are many songs in RB already that are slow for the vocalist (hence why they add tambourine or cowbell to songs that don;t actually have those instruments recorded).

If vocalist can be left out for parts of songs, I see no reason why bass/drums can't be the same. Stairway would be most fun for vocals/guitar. Others are more fun on drums/guitar/what-have-you. Seems fair to me.

Add to that the classic status of the song, how many people would pay to have it, and there's no way they'd pass it up just because drums might be boring for the first 3 minutes.

I would LOVE to see it, but (I think someone else might have already said this) it would be the end to online play as well as playing with friends as we know it. No one would want to play anything else. I love the Who song on there, but after I had to play it 5 times in a row online, I still loved the song, but I haven't played it on my own by choice since.

Stairway is a crappy and overrated song. There are several better Led Zeppelin songs to choose from. Also, it'd be boring to play. There's barely any bass, drums don't start till 4 minutes in.

Haha, so many great Led Zeppelin songs, hell, if we even get Led Zeppelin at all I'm happy. Think of all the great songs, really now, one massive pack... ahh... I guess I'd better keep dreaming though. like someone on the front page said, I doubt Led would sign away songs to a video game, and no one wants to get sued for using a song without the artists permission.

I am of the opinion that there are SO many Zepplin songs better suited to the full band experience than SwtH.

"Blackdog" could easily fit right into the 'Impossible' song list. "Living Loving Maid (She's just a Woman)" or "Immigrant Song" could be a little easier maybe but still either would be a hell of a lotta fun.

My point is, if you go with SwtH...might as well go with "Kashmir" its as boring as hell too unless you're stoned or trying to get laid.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are the people that you should be sending petitions to, not Harmonix.

But yeah, I guess i'll sign it, even though it won't do any good.

Don't get me wrong, I love Led Zeppelin, it's just that if the copyright holders haven't let Harmonix use their songs yet, it probably isn't going to happen (and if it does happen, it's going to involve outragous licencing fees)

And, oh yeah, there are so many better songs suited for rock band besides Stairway... :rolleyes:
