Sorry if this has already been posted, but I searched and came up empty. My little white hub thingy is giving me problems. I've tried everything, but when I use it, none of my instruments will register as connected. I'm using xbox 360 and the dashboard light isn't even coming on. It hooked up, plugged in , but nothing. Am I doing something wrong, or do I have a bad hub? Please help a gal out!! I will make pancakes for you :p

I have had the same problem with mine. I even tried using my own usb hub (the instructions say any hub will work), but it still wont work. The xbox button thing flashes when i first connect on of the instruments or a controller and then turns off. I think its a problem with the xbox recognizing the hub because my hub works with my computer just fine. I think the only thing to do is to order a new one.

Zombiexgirl, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Unfortunately that's exactly the same thing that is happening with my USB hub(s) too. I've even tried a different USB hub other than the one that comes with the game but I've also had no success even though both USB hubs work just fine with my computer. And like gatorelk I also see the xbox button flash for a brief second and then go out, never to light back up. It certainly does seem as if the xbox360 itself cannot recognize the USB hubs.

I guess now that I've tried 2 completely different USB hubs with my xbox360 and neither one of them have worked I'm kind of sceptical on whether or not getting a replacement hub is really going to work or not for me, especially if the problem lies with the 360 not recognizing the hubs.

Sorry zombiexgirl, it looks as though for now the three of us are all stuck without the ability to use our USB hubs with the 360. If anything should change and if by some act of god I find a way to make my USB hub work I'll let you know what black magic I had to do to it to get it working.

(Do I still get pancakes?....);)

Thanks for replying both of you, it sounds like we are all experiencing the same thing, at least I know now that it isn't something that I'm doing wrong. It's still bumming me out though, cause that's an awful lot of money to spend on a game bundle that won't work. If ya'll figure it out, please let me know, and I will do the same for you.

As for the pancakes, yeah, you still get them, just for trying :D

ok if you havent figured it out i just did there is a plug in the back of your 360 where your wireless connection might be so just unplug your connection andplug it into the front if you have wireless connection otherwise just simply plug your hub into the back plug-in

I second the suggestion to plug it into the rear jack. Also, I know this may seem like a silly, but for the sake fo completeness, the USB hub needed to be plugged into a power adapter as well as to the 360, so make sure that the plug didn't fall out or something.

yeah this happened to me for a split second with a bundle I bought yesterday I'd unplug and plug instruments back in and get a brief flash of green...all I did was unplug the power supply from the usb hub and plug it back in...then it all started working...I was using a usb port in front of the xbox.

YES! I finally figured out how to make the USB Rockband Hub work and I think this should work for you all too if you are still having problems!!

Knowing that the hub itself was OK (I had tried it out with my home computer and it worked fine on there) I was suspicious as to what was going on with the Xbox 360 as to why it wouldn't seem to recognize my USB hub. The one thing that I noticed about it was that everytime I would plug the hub into the 360 and plug the rockband guitar or drums into the USB hub the big green "X" button on the guitar or drums would briefly flash green and then go blank.

After a lot of searching on these forums and on the internet for a reason to why this might be I was able to stumble across another forum about the xbox 360 that talked about how sometimes the xbox 360's USB ports become "stagnant" and wont recognize wired controllers as well as other USB devices. The solution to fix this problem: COMPLETELY REMOVE THE POWER SUPPLY CABLE FOR THE XBOX 360 FOR A MINUTE AND THEN RECONNECT IT TO THE 360.

It seems that even though the xbox360 gets turned off it still never is "completely" off until the power supply is disconnected. Completely disconnecting the power supply from the 360 seems to allow the xbox 360 to "refresh" itself and it's ports.

Anyways, after I reconnected the power supply cable to the 360 I first plugged my guitar into the USB hub and then, plugged the USB hub into the top USB port in the front of the 360 (my xbox sits horizontal / flat). Next, make sure that your rockband USB Hub is plugged into it's little power adapter and then once everything seems to be connected correctly use a normal Xbox 360 controller to turn on your Xbox. If everything has worked correctly once the 360 powers up you should see the little green USB Hub light up and then see your guitar or drums that you have plugged into the USB Hub also light up and stay lit up and not just flash. After a few seconds you should then see your guitar or your drums get assigned a player number/slot (1-4) and then you should be all set to go!

I hope this helps!

I, too, have to unplug power from the hub to get it to recognize.

But it depends which peripherals are plugged into it. For example, drums/mic/xplorer will work properly. But when these, along with the strat, are plugged in, i must repower the hub. Seems like a strat problem.

Note that with my first (faulty strum) strat, the usb worked fine.
