Hi, I'm RidintheLines. This is definitely not my first forum, but I do need help with a few things in Rock Band. But before I start I will tell you that I have the full Rock Band package for PlayStation 3. :o I also own Guitar Hero 3 for the PlayStation 3.

1) Bass Guitar-They said I would be able to play bass in Rock Band with my Wireless Guitar Hero 3 guitar. However, when I plug it in, the frequency is set to the mic and that isn't very good. Am I doing something wrong or is it a patch? The game says I need more instruments in order to acquire more fans. (Once again, I am on a ps3)

2) Buying individual Instruments-I see that they sell the Rock Band game individually in stores, so is there any way that I could buy instruments separately? I just got back from Best Buy looking to buy another Rock Band guitar but I saw none. I don't understand why the game would be sold individually, but without instruments. Also, money is no issue, I have a $150 gift certificate to Best Buy.

3) Online Play- I am not sure how Online works for ps3, it says I need to go to the store to purchase it, but when I look, all they have is a bunch of downloadable songs.

4) Lag- Ok, so I have set the lag to adjust to my LG Plama tv. 95% of the time, there is no lag. However, in that 5% of the time, I see the notes scrolling sooner than the song is playing. It is off by about 1/2 of a second and its hard to play the songs like this! Would you happen to know anything about any of that?

Thank you to all answers! :)

1) Activision has blocked Sony from releasing a patch that would allow us to the use the GHIII Les Paul with Rock Band. There's nothing much we can do about it except make our voices heard to Activision. As of now there is no way to use the controller with RB.

2) Individual instruments are expected around early February. But with all sheer amount of faulty equiptment and bundle shortages, I wouldn't be surprised to see that date slip a bit. You can pay out the behind for individual guitars and such on eBay, or you can order a replacement from EA, never return your "defective" instrument and have them charge your credit card for $125. Sadly, those are our only options. Wait, eBay or scam the return system.

3) Sony's online play is absolutely free. No $50 a year BS just to play against/with friends. The downloadable songs are a different matter.

4) I'm no AV expert, but it seems to me that your game would lag 100% of the time, or would be properly calibrated 100% of the time. I can't see how it would suddenly lag up, unless something is wrong with your system.

Hope that helps. :)

Yeah a lot of people were caught off by that whole "works with every guitar" thing, sadly I was one of those who bought the standalone version hoping to just plug in a USB guitar when I got home only to be disappointed.

When they say going online, they're talking about buying the Downloadable songs, you can play with or against other people simply by choosing the multiplayer> Band quickplay option.

Do they really charge you 125 bucks if you dont return the "defective" instrument? that seems incredibly cold when they force people to have resort to doing things like this just to play something more than just the vocal game.

Ok, thanks! :)

I got online to work and was playing it earlier today on expert drums. I guess I'll just have to wait to get a full band anyway, I'm tired of my mom singing! :D
