turn off the drum pedal?

Is there a way to turn off the drum pedal in the 360 version? Ive played a demo at a local best buy and they didnt have the pedal activated and thats how i want to be able to play it.

The pedal can only be deactivated in the demo version as some stores don't want to put the pedal on the floor.

The retail version does not allow this. Learn to play with the pedal, it's worth it. Yes it's hard, it's supposed to be.

The pedal is very difficult but fun to use as you learn. ;) I found myself a better drummer (with a stronger foot) after playing Rock Band. Just watch and do the tuts, cut the songs down, and try your best. You'll get the hang of it! Don't worry. ;)

Are these answers from the programmers or are y'all jsut random players answering. This issue is particularly important at my house as we have a handicapped child that wants to play the drums but can't physically operate the pedal. We would like to use the drum set like we saw it in the store. Our family band has topped out level wise and we need to find a work around for this so that we can enjoy all the game has to offer.

Both. The programmers have said on this forum that there is no way to disable the kick pedal.

That function was only available in the store demo versions, and is not available in the retail version that is available for sale to the public.

I seen some instructions on how to put a sensor on a stick so he could just press his thumb on the stick when he needs the kicks. It looked fairly simple to make, does anyone have instructions for this?
