Is there a confirmed number of songs on the disc itself?

Goto rockband.com. Click song list. It says 40 licensed tracks. This probably doesn't include bonus songs.

I was gonna say , if theres only 40 tracks and 18 of them aren't anything interesting that could go bad really fast

Bet on, at the very least, a Acrobrats song, a Honest Bob Song, an Anarchy Club song, and a Freezepop song.

The Breaking Wheel were in Guitar Hero I, but they were called Artillery. I think Vagiant will be in because their lead singer is basically the face of Rock Band.
