View Full Version : Double bass on a single pedal?

I just got the game last night and am enjoying it. I haven't unlocked all the songs yet so I don't know how fast some of the bass drum parts can get, but I did see that "One" is in the works for a future release (according to wiki, not sure how reliable that is). Are we really expected to play that sixlet double bass part on the single pedal? Maybe an experienced drummer can with that muscle development but man that's gotta be rough...

I think there are already some double bass notes in the game on the Metallica songs, I could be wrong though, but I just don't see how you can slam on the kick pedal 5 times fast in those songs, especially when the notes are like this:

They are a lil closer than that, but I cannot get smaller than that with text heh.

Yeah I mean there's a difference between a quick double bass hit and an extended pattern of sixlets that are pretty quick.

That's in ...And Justice For All, and it can be played with one kick pedal. :)
As far as One is concerned, I have yet to ever meet a single drummer that can play those sextuplets with one foot. Lars didn't even play them with BOTH feet in the studio (it was faked using his floor tom and then the sounds were replaced with kick drum hits in post-production), or live (drum triggers on his kicks) for that matter.
My guess is that if that song ever makes it to RB, they'll chop the kick drum part down to 3 or 4 hits for those parts.
