i think there need to be more songs that you can download that are more recent, i would go crazy if they put some Breaking Benjamin or Three Days Grace on here

the good thing about the DLC is that we can have a wide range of music from all decades, and you can pick and choose what you want.. there will be a lot of classics and a lot of modern music i'm sure in the next couple months, just be patient and enjoy what we have so far!

All-American Rejects and 30 seconds to Mars aren't newer?

Yeah, we just had five songs last week that are less than three years old, bringing the DLC total for newer songs up to 9 out of 35, or a full quarter of what's been released.
Sure, they haven't hit your favorite songs or bands, but that doesn't make your blanket assertion that they're not putting in newer stuff true.

Amen Meld. So far those are the only 3 songs I have downloaded. Personally, I would glue myself to my Strat if we got some Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Fair to Midland, or Stone Sour/Slipknot... And now we play the waiting game...

Aside from Fair to Midland who I've never heard of, all of those are modern bands I would totally love to see in the game.

If we ever see Breaking Benjamin or Three Days Grace on the DLC it will be the day Rock Band has finally jumped the shark. There is just far too many great bands that need to be represented in this game before we boil down to the level of sub par pop rock. And the funny part is i actually like Three Days Grace a lot.

Didn't they just release some crappy music? Wasn't the rejects and 30 seconds to Mars enough for you? Sorry to be an a$$, but I'd love to see more older (good) music come out...they're doing pretty good so far, but I can't get enough! can't wait for Who's Next and the Rush/skynyrd download this week was superb!! I'd suggest changing your tastes in music, but since that won't happen i guess they'll just have to release some breaking benjamin or something...maybe then I'll see what it's like (I've never made a point to listen to it so maybe it's better than i think, but I've just had a lot of experience with thinking "Popular" music is garbage)

While I agree with the sentiment, the bar has already been set pretty low by the 12-25 release, so I would not say that these bands would be a step down.

Thank [insert deity here]! I've been begging for Breaking Benjamin/Three Days Grace since June. It's about time somebody felt my pain!
I also asked for 30 Seconds to Mars, so it looks like they really are listening to us. Just keep hoping, fellow Shallow Bay folks!

I've resigned myself to the idea that--like almost everyone else who has the game--I will never see my favorite songs as DLC.
So far, they've only put out three tracks from among my very favorite bands (one from REM, two from Radiohead), and the three tracks they chose are nowhere near my favorite songs.
It's just the nature of this sort of game: there's too much music out there that too many people enjoy for everyone to get their very favorite tracks.

While I'm firmly in the "Old Farts who want as much 70s hippy music as I get a hold of" crew...I have to admit that those two songs by All American Rejects were/are really fun to play.

Personal tastes notwithstanding (I don't like them) but I didn't mean those were a low-bar quality wise. I meant those are bands that no one is going to remember in 5-10 years. I'm sure we will see more pop-ish bands if that is the "low" standard.
