When I saw rock band originally my first thought was that the singing part of it would get on my nerves. I had flashbacks of times when I had to play guitar hero along side screeching girls playing karaoke revolution. So far the only problem I have with the game is my fears that the vocal aspect of it will detract harshly from the fun of the game. I can't sing well, and don't want to make a fool of myself in front of my friends and I also don't want to hear them belt out the lyrics for songs they're unfamiliar with. So I suggest that as part of the downloadable content for the game some instrumental albums are included.
How about Ratatat - Ratatat (though classics is good too)
it would be absolutely amazing, I think they would fit perfectly into the mold that rock band is creating for songs. Plus expose/get people into music that they normally wouldn't listen to. Although the singing looks nice to some people, I would definitely appreciate the opportunity to play songs without that feature.

p.s. the inclusion of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones would blow my mind.

You dont have to play every part.. You could hypothetically just buy 2 guitars and the drum set and play with those, the vocals would be filled in. Im pretty sure you can use any combination of online and offline players, so singing is not mandatory.

Yeah, if you just don't buy the mic... none of your friends could even do the singing part... so it'd be a win/win situation... unless one of them had a mic and brought it over... lol
