I'm so baffled o.O; Am I ******ed, or does it just seem like the bass pedal is 2 pieces of plastic with no sort of sensor or trigger in sight? I want to know because I'm thinking about modifying the pedal but have no idea how it works and all that what not.

I believe it's a magnetic proximity sensor in the section that the cord plugs into.

I'm no engineer, but it's basically a magnet on the pedal and a sensor on the base, or something like that.

So, if I were to take off the plastic pedal and put on a metal one, it wouldn't work. What parts would I have to keep? It's good to know these things

You want to keep the orange part. That's the part of the trigger.
Also, you guys totally passed up a chance to tell him it worked by voodoo magic. I would have told him that once he stopped believing in the pedal it would stop working.

I kinda felt it was the orange part, guess I'll find a way to make that happen.
