Unlockables Wanted - Iron Maiden's Eddie Character - What's Yours?

I don't know about you, but wouldn't having Iron Maiden's Eddie as an unlockable character be awesome??!?! Or at least his head or something. With the "Build a Character" option, this could be done, as well as other band icons and even band members! LOL! I'm getting flashbacks of the Journey arcade game now. However, this would be much more detailed! :D

These characters as downloadable content would be awesome. Harmonix could also do like a "Rock Band Album Package" where you would get the songs (Greatest Hits, new or old albums) band member characters, bass drum skins, their guitars (say like Mars' or Lita Ford's B.C. Rich Warlock), stage curtain backdrops, groupies for the crowd (okay, gone to far there). That would be very cool!

bleh. personally I don't like real people being in the game.... It's why GH3 looks pretty stupid now, it's all about Slash.. like GH needs a freaking mascot or some ****... makes me sick.

as long as they are just extra and not forced in the game.. ok. I'm cool with just making my own guys.

Even famous tour stages that people would recognize (Motley Crue with the setup from Girls, Girls, Girls tour with Tommy's drum kit spinning over the crowd for example) would be awesome.

And I'm sure I'll piss a lot of people off with this one, but you could have Rick Allen from Def Leppard with one arm....or two. :cool: Okay, stop, I'm just kidding on this one! But you get the point. Theres a TON of things RB could do with content and bands/characters/sets/etc. Which reminds me, how about a Monsters of Rock tour band and setlist? :D

Cable-swinging a la the "Panama" video

Dual-neck guitars, and you can play two note boards on the same controller :) (top and bottom set of frets)

Court jester outfit

Crowd surfing

Green Day's "drunk bunny" dude


Another cool feature would to be able to IM your buddies who are playing RB over the network; you send them a message, and it appears on their backdrop/lightshow/LED board etc in game. That would be awesome.

I really like the idea of Download-able Albums packed with characters matching the album artists.

We don't know how robust the band creation system is, but perhaps they could be made from the included assets? Or maybe constructed from a combination of the retail assets and some extra "bits" (hair styles, costuming, makeup?) that are made available with the DLC.

I'm not even a fan, but I could see me paying 1000msp for "KISS Alive!" if it came with the parts to recreate the band... big metal boots and all. Plus the ability to use them in any future band members? Sounds great...

This is where companies need to think about DLC as more important for profits than the original game. People want to customize their stuff so that their game is unique. Like the razor blade model, turn multiplayer game profit models on their head.

The online PC gaming market is already doing this. EverQuest 2 and other games are already using these techniques to make money.

What they should give you instead of a character is items for your wardrobe and special personalities, that way you'd be free to make the character you want, or just be a rock legend.

Quite frankly, this game could use more exploding drummers.

That Hogan thing would be even funnier if they DID have him as a bonus... and then also had Real American as a bonus track, just for laughs (I'd play it anyway, lol).

Also... the skeleton costume someone mentioned... LA PARKA! He could even "play" the steel chair! :D

That would be a comedic unlockable. Let the imagination run wild. Hopefully this will spark some attention with Harmonix and we get some of these to add flair to our rocker. Replicas for those who just want the instant. Separate items for those who want to create. All have a tie-in with the rock-scene and would be perfect for DLC and bonus items for DLC music.

How about some Blue Man Group characters. LOL! :o

Meh, Ill just use the character creation to create a character as close to Adrian Smith as possible and then leave it at that. Famous people endorsing the game is not such a great idea imo.
Of course, Im gonna have to make a Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain etc.

I mean, we'll just see loads of the same characters over and over online if they just release famous characters/clothes. Whats the point in creativity when you can just take the easy option?
Less people will make their own rock stars and just buy the things to make slash, etc. Good business perhaps for Developer and Publisher.......

With the exception of a few, I'm not talking the "Slash-fest" that GHIII is doing. Just some memorabilia to enhance the Rock Band experience. And again, it can be content that is reasonably priced. So, if you don't want it, don't buy it!

I sort of agree. I don't hate it but it's more fun to be original, even if you're just re-creating real people, 'cuz they'd probably look different anyway.

Sorry, that's mainly my fault with the wrestling talk (All barring the video link I think), I just figure that a Hogan or La Parka character (La Parka especially come to think of it, 'cause of his whole chair dealio) would be hilarious... Unfortunately I can pretty much guarentee that neither will be in, La Parka especially, but if they do give us an option of DLC as a Steel Chair for a guitar... you can bet I'm nabbing that just for comedy sake :D.

It's gonna end up being like the WWE games where people come up with their own "formulas" to make musicians/characters. I remember all the classic Universal monsters were made in one of the WWE games.

I wouldn't say I hate it, but for a game like this I think real characters discourages creativity and absolutely assures that half the time you play online you will have Ozzy Osbourne in your band. Or something alone those lines.

I see your point. If there were these items in game, I'd still make my own, and it would be cool to see what memorabilia each person would sport via online battles. However, not everyone is creative, or would want to take the time to create a new character, so this gives them something to do when setting up their profile. Otherwise, we'll see default band members all over the place!

me, i would love to unlock a mode by beating expert 5 stars that lets you completly make your own character.if so i would definetly make my avatar lokk like master chief. and if i could make a guitar with my character i would make a assualt rifle guitar or maybe the spartan laser axe.

Character creation comes as standard dude... tho' I'm guessing there will be some "basic" models there for those who just want to get right in and start rocking.

As for Fozzy sucking, I admit they're not even in my Winamp (I think I have two MP3's by 'em... they're not good enough to even warrant a consideration for a full album), however as a bonus song... that would still kinda rock, especially if Jericho was a bonus character 'cause of it.

Rock Band could try drawing in all the wrestling fan base by having Jericho to GH3's Slash, lol.
