I remember how awesome the art for Guitar Hero was. The scores etched into the bathroom wall, the setlist on crumpled composition paper, and the seemingly random paintings.

But I think I'm loving the style of Rock Band even moreso. Like the first page of the GI article with that awesome drawing, the style of the note boards with the transparent art and squares instead of circles, even on this and the game site. They've pulled out all the stops the set the art, style, and mood apart. I am really digging it

I couldn't agree more, everything I have seen of Rock Band looks really good. The menus and the overall art style throughout the game is very sleek and clean looking but still gives you that rock and roll feel.

I really like it, I've enjoyed guitar hero and guitar hero II's styles as well, and I don't think I'll be disappointed with how all the stuff yet to be seen in Rock Band turns out.

This game gives off a more realistic feel. Guitar Hero came across as a bit out there and cartoony. I dont want ridiculous star power moves on my rocker for Rock Band.....i'd prefer a more realistic feel and thats the impression i'm getting

I agree. Judy Nails was one of my favorites because she was the closest to actual proportions.
RB looks like it has a bit more "serious" style than GH

Just chiming in to agree. I love the art style of Rock Band from what I've seen so far. The menu animations and art from the E3 video are amazing, even pixelized as they are.

The set list waving like a flag, the polished 3d menus, the "puff" as each note is played. There's less cartoon and more detail and darkness. I love it, and can't wait for release.

I'm really digging the way this is turning out. After watching the video on GameSpot where they played several songs, I really liked the way each rocker was getting ready for the gig and they did the quick "snapshot" of each with their name as the band was ready to rock. The menus were killer, and I like now how they've incorporated the band's name into the songlist instead of waiting until the game loads and see "as made famous by...". This game feels more like a concert than GHII did...visually speaking of course!

May I also compliment Harmonix on the lighting. Keeps it looking real and colorful at the same time.

I loved the little graphical changes they made in GHII on 360. Especially for hair. And it seems they're all present in Rock Band. Despite popular opinion I do spend alot of time paying attention to my band while playing. Animations look smoother in Rock Band too.
