Dec. 11 I requested a new guitar, after my first replacement literally died in less than an hour.

I received my empty box pretty quickly (the same week in fact). I sent out my guitar on the 18th. As far as I know, it made it to EA just fine, because on the 21st the support.ea.com site updated and says "Label Printed."

Well... it has been almost two weeks now and nothing. However, on the 26th the RMA for my original guitar was cancelled...? This, obviously, is my second guitar that I had to send back, so I don't know why the status of my original guitar has been cancelled. I had a pretty quick and speedy delivery with my original guitar, and was pretty happy with the response time.

I also am not going to be so naive and completely bash EA with them being slow this time, as the holidays completely wrecked and flooded the shipping schedules and such. However, I was expecting to get my guitar back before christmas. I figured, going by how fast the first guitar was shipped, that the second one could've made it home before christmas. Now I don't know what's up, because I know EA hasn't been closed for the last 2 whole weeks.

I'm just starting to get frustrated. I've had Rock Band since the day of release... but I've only ever been able to play on the Strat for about a total of two hours since then...

Note: I used the slower method of return, as I can't justify EA holding on to any amount of my money due to them shipping out faulty instruments.

Join the club. EA received my guitar back on Dec. 17th and I've received nothing.

I can't get straight answers from their support people.

They lie to placate you so you'll hang up the phone.

I'd phone their (unfortunately non toll free) number and talk to an actual person.'

I'd not trust that website since it fouled up two of my RMA's already. I've been sitting with a broken strat since Dec 6th. And I've still got a 3-4 week wait I've been told with "express" delivery.

I think in their rush to get holiday product oout they've shorted themselves on replacement guitars.

It seems that some people have been told that they are out of guitars and others like me just keep getting the run around. Calling tech support certainly didn't help me. It eroded the little faith I still had in EA.

Trying to figure out my options. I'm not calling tech support back 20 times and I'm not waiting another month for a replacement, especially since they received my broken one well over 2 weeks ago.

Do the express method. I put in my order on 12/31/07, received my replacement on 01/02/08. I shipped out my old one this morning (01/03/08).

No problems yet with new guitar (((knocking on wood))).

No I'm not giving them $100+ of my money to hold onto to fix their screwup.

I have also been waiting approx 3 weeks for my replacement guitar. Sent mine in on the 17th, Still nothing.

Seems if we don't fork over our hard earned money they really don't care about us customers. They only care about the customers that are impatient enough to hand over more money, after paying already.

Still waiting on my guitar, maybe a month will be the magic number?

There are two problems with that though.

1. My guitar is (as far as I know) at EA. I successfully received my empty box and shipped out my guitar. The status page at the support site says that the "Label Printed."

2. I will reiterate what I stated at the bottom of my original post:

I can not justify allowing EA to place a hold on any amount of my money due to them shipping out faulty hardware.

Not to sound harsh, but I am happy to know that you have a working guitar. I had a great response when i placed my first RMA. The guitar I was given worked great... for about forty minutes. Then the electronics appearantly died completely. Now my second RMA, I received my box and everything just fine... but now I have waited a day shy of two weeks to learn anything about when I'll get my third guitar. :(

Also, I realize that christmas certainly had to effect the shipments as well. But regarding christmas, it was the second holiday I was without my Strat. I was really hoping to do a full band game with my family on Thanksgiving and X-Mas... but no go... so I am kind of bummed about that.
