Hey everybody,
I do lead and sometimes vocals for my band...I'm pretty good at singing and can usually combo a song I know on hard...but the problem is talking! Where there's no pitch and you just say it. I ALWAYS fail at it, and it aways takes my combo down.
Sabatoge is a nightmare, as you might guess... and for some of the parts, like in "The Kill", it's a scream. Do I have to scream too? Anybody any help with this...? Thanks!

In the 30 Seconds songs, I've found if I scream, it doesn't work well. I scream on pitch and the pointer continuously registers and fails to register multiple times a second, as if the mic can't consistently register the sound. I recommend dropping out of scream-mode and singing it in your falsetto.
Unless you're like me; I don't care about the score so long as I feel like a total badass and think it sounds right.
And for some reason, my tone-deaf brother can do Sabotage with what we call a "Flawless Victory" (imagine Shao Kahn's voice when you think it). It might be because he really likes the Beastie Boys, and therefore has great timing on that song.

What I've found works for me is during the "talkie" parts, move the mic away from your mouth a bit further than when ur actually singing. Also, try to start saying the phrase just a split second before the arrow actually hits it. By the way, I've 5 starred both Sabotage and Epic on Expert. Hope this helps.

I've found that I score higher on sabotage if I talk the whole song in falsetto.

Thanks everybody...I'll try falcetto, Shao Kahn, and holding it away from my mouth.
On a lighter note, I was singing in a few round of BWT, and Sabatoge came up...I just wound up screaming "I HATE THIS SONG SO MUCH" To everything...I got most of the phrases. XD

I find Sabotage to be a very difficult song for me to get. I mean I always end up 92-96% of the phrases, but Strong phrases just don't cut it.
I found out that singing in a sticatto manner (which sounds absolutely horrible) ends up getting the phrases more, unless the words have a hold portion to them. Then I just can't get them. "I'm out and I'm gone" is almost always a messy phrase.
Even When You Were Young gets me. I rarely if every Awesome the talkie phrases. I say the words almost precisely as the singer, but it seems almost for those isn't enough. I get Strong or messy and stare at the screen wondering what I need to do. Even with the improved mic still seems no better.
I need a cheat sheet to figure those parts out, and listening to the song 50 times hasn't helped :P
