PS3 Wireless Guitar Issues

I picked up RB yesterday and set up the guitar, I plugged in the wireless usb thing (the light flashes then turns solid) and popped in the batteries, but when press the connection button the guitar (the button right under the PS3 button) it doesn't do anything and if I hold it down it just flashes.

I set up to get a new one so it's no real big problem. But did anyone else have a problem like this?
