Important question about Guitar Self-fix

Ok, The self-fix idea (opening the guitar and fixing strummer) has never been said 100% clearly that it does in-fact void your warranty. I'm fed up with waiting for my replacement to get here, if it actually will... And I'm sick of trying to get help from customer support. So could someone please clarify whether or not this will void my warranty.

Been waiting over about a week and a half now, been tracking the shipment since day 1 and not a change.

it's just a combination of the holidays and the ground shipping. I just got my drums back via 2day exchange and it took a week and a half. Sorry you have been waiting all this time. I was about to see what was up about my order and it finally shipped out.

I still need to know if opening the guitar will void my warranty. I'm sick of playing drums and singing.

just go buy guitar hero 2 or 3 if you have xbox 360, then you will have 2 guitars that you will need for 4 player

Technically it's suppose to but I opend mine and fixed it temporarilly then decided to still send it back and had no problems.

This will void your warranty and it won't work for long. What you can try to do is get a can of compressed air and blow that into the slots around the strum bar to clear out the gunk around the strum bar contacts. This won't necessarily work, but it's worth a shot if you're still waiting.

I don't recommend opening the back, but if you do... make sure you clean off the two metal contacts on either side of the strum bar. If these are clean, everything should work. Oh, and screw all the screws back in.

Oh, it'll get there eventually but it will:
A. Break quick.
B. Break slow.

If I were you I'd hope for A and just forget about Rock Band and just play one man Carpenters.
