Combining Local & Remote Players (360)

My fiance (drums) and I (vocals) were trying to do a Band Quickplay with a friend (guitar) of ours. All of us have Xbox Live Gold accounts, but my fiance and I play from the same console. We tried several different ways of putting the band together, but we could only do exclusively remote OR exclusively local. I'm sure there's a way for 2 people in the same house to play with a remote player, isn't there?
