I might sound weird just suggesting everyone go to a website to expand your music tastes but this website is what got me interested in music
pandora.com its a great web site to start you just enter the name of a song or band you like and it will play music similar to that subject you can then "Thumbs up" or " thumbs down" a song and it will continuely evolve to music you like ck free account and you will continue on listening
also you can only skip so many songs per hour(thumbs downing songs will skip the song)
try it out if your not an arrogant "my music is the only music" kind of person

I really think people need to expand their musical tastes as well. Too many people think classic rock is the only rock and almost completely ignore any other kind of rock, and it makes me sick hearing people say they hate an entire genre. Hell, I'm starting to really get into Japanese rock and pop. Too bad too many people nowadays live sheltering themselves from any music thats not their absolute favorite.

Another cool site I've found is http://liveplasma.com/. It doesn't actually play music, but you can put in the name of a band and it will plot out a chart with other bands similar to the one you put in, pretty good tool for finding bands that play the type of music you like, I know I've found a bunch this way, although being able to actually sample the songs sounds like it might be better.

A wise man once said: "I HATE ALL THE BANDS THAT YOU LIKE!"
Let his words live on for posterity.
