This is, overall, a mediocre list. Some of you guys need to realize that loud does not automatically equal good. It certainly doesn't automatically equal metal and it DAMN sure doesn't equal punk. If you want to declare part of your list punk, you certainly want to do better. There's some good bands on here that you could've picked better songs from and some mediocre bands that you picked some really poor material from. The Rob Zombie/White Zombie and Gwar selections are particularly glaring for bands that are mostly theatrical and mediocre that have much better selections to choose from. Poor songs for Ozzy, Fear, Tool, System of A Down, Slayer, SOD, Pantera and AC/DC. The Misfits selection is okay at best. Some of those "metal" bands should be omitted altogether.

I'll give you some big ups for the Crowbar, Gojira, Descendants and Cannibal Corpse selections and MAJOR props for the COC song, which would be one of the songs I'd love to see the most of any song, but that selection of anything by Lordi damn near nullifies your entire list.

Not trying to bag on you just to bag on you. Just giving an honest answer.

It would be the greatest day of my life if they released some Unearth, 3IOB, KSE, LoG, ATR, GWAR, or pretty much anything on that list. Playing the drums would be hard though because of the need for another pedal. I would love to make my friends who think my taste in music sucks sing these songs.

There's more than a couple bands on there I'd kill to see in Rock Band. Mostly not the songs I would have picked, though.

Personally I think that the lead singer from Rammstein is the only REAL singer in the world anyway.

We should probably do away with vocals in this game. It's a liability to getting 5 gold stars anyway.

While we're at it.. let's do away with drums too... that way we don't have to worry about the drummer getting annoyed at having to play 100 songs written for full kits with double and triple bass drums getting annoyed, or breaking thier drums.

Then we should add in like.. I dunno.. some sort of boss battle mode or something so that the uber guitar players can like.. beat a boss and unlock new costumes.

That would be sweet.

yes we need some damn metal already!!! Black sabbath was good and all but it just doesn't cut it, the songs weren't challenging!! The metallica selections were ok (they could of been a lot worse.) I'm sick of all this whining on this soundtrack!! The game is called ROCKBAND not POPBAND, lets ****in rock already! Get a megadeth pack (w/holywars) Children of Bodom(kissing the shadows, follow the reaper) pack and Between the buried and me pack! These would be extreme challenges on the guitar and drums. Then I don't care if you wanna release popular metalcore bands like A7X, Trivium, AILD, or whatever. I can't believe the amount of pop songs on this game...they require no talent and are extremely repetitive.

oh I forgot the RB guitar can't handle any of the above

The Guitar can handle all of the above with no problem, this issue is that you can't score the vocals.

There's a very common theme with all of the music selections, and it's that they avoid screaming whenever possible. The four modern metal screams are not of specific pitch and do not use the same vowel pronunciation as spoken language.

Considering the technology used to score vocals, I don't know if there's really a solution. You can test it yourself, "metal up" Epic or the end of The Hand that Feeds (assuming you are a decent metal vocalist). We've got a metal vocalist in our group of friends, and while he sounds ****ing great, he scores poorly when he lets it rip as he normally would.

The vocals, realistically, is actually an easier solve than we think.

You know in some songs how some songs don't monitor pitch (Sabotage)? So Long as you say something, and loud enough, it counts. Death grunts, hardcore yells and even Pig Vocals could be allowed if the system was calibrated to be more acceptable. Now, of course, could allow some pitch for some songs: Tool, Dropkick, W.A.S.P.

Also, I invite you all to add your own suggestions. Come on, try and surprise me. If you feel my suggestions suck, and some of em probably do, go on and tell me what else.

Everyone goes through that loud=good phase in their rock listening career. Thankfully, the guys at HMX appear to be over the age of 18.

Ryan, you are invited to suck my ass.

I don't like every song in the game, but I grit my teeth and play through Fall Out Boy, and just remember they were in a better Hardcore band called Racetraitor, and lets not forget Arma Angelus). If you don't give a **** about my stuff, ok, no sweat, now, please, if you would SHUT UP! This is a forum, you are not obligated to participate.

Some of these guys are my friends, just trying to sing to what makes sense to them. Let's see how you bust your hump to do what they do, just calling it loud.
