Seriously this is like my third news update today. Can I please have a gig on this site for news?
Okay EA sorta slammed the wired guitar rumor and barely put to rest the whole $200 bundle thing.
Saying each are "pure speculation" and the price will be "reasonable".

*sigh* Back to waiting on Harmonix. Square uno.

Well, the page wont load for me "Taking too long to respond", maybe an overload on the site. But, are they saying it'll be higher or lower?
Edit: Yeah, I think something might be wrong, now my browser cant establish any connection to the site

Sounds lower to me.

Okay, it just loaded for me. It could go either way. They could be meaning that "It's a little higher, but still in a reasonable price range" or "It's reasonable, 200 is more than it should be, it'll be lower"
I'm 50/50 on that one.
P.S. I agree 100%, you need an official newscaster title!

wow, well I hope it goes lower. Any higher would seem unreasonable to me.

I would love for it to end up being lower, but I really don't know how much lower it will be, I wouldn't expect any miracles.

Interesting news. Thanks again!
I'm an Amazon Prime member, so I could get it overnighted for cheap, or 2 day delivery. Somehow, Amazon always comes through and gets me titles on release date, so I'll stick with 2 Day.
I'll give it a shot there! If it's more, I guess I would be locked into $199. If less, they honor that too. Sounds like a win/win if you ask me! :)

It better not be too much higher than 200 bucks. I can't see it going much lower.

Yeah. Peripherals cost money to produce. I have no problem paying what it's worth. There's a lot of overhead in making physical stuff like that.

Seriously. If they can somehow get the bundle cost down to like $150-175 or so, that would be amazing!

agreed. I'm fine with the $200 price range. For just a drum package I'd like to pay no more $120.

I'm obviously not a fan of high prices, but I basically think the more expensive it is the better it could turn out to be. I would expect the drumset alone to be about $120 just for the design and parts. The game is an easy $60. So right there is almost about the $200 they were throwing around. Then you got a guitar and mic, i would guess those 2 items alone could be about $80-$100 more.
Yah, so anywhere near the $200-$250 is ok by me, anything more would definitely be pushing it, as sales would then go down sharply i think. I don't have a problem paying for a quality product. I do have a problem paying for a piece of crap that won't hold up.

I don't get why people initally thought it would cost that much. It's not like they're going to sell the game, the guitar, and the mic in some sort of super-package, right? It seems likely that they'll have a sepparate bundle for each, and additionally, sell each instument on its own. I really don't see one person buying more than one instument.
Here are my guestimations:
Guitar Bundle: $99.99
Drum Bundle: $109.99
Mic Bundle: $79.99
Just Guitar: $59.99
Just Drums: $69.99
Just Mic: $39.99

Perhaps I speak out of ignorance here, but the microphone peripheral seems like it shouldn't be as expensive as is rumored.
I can visit any electronics store or walmart and get a passable PC microphone for under $15, maybe 20 or 25$ for a higher-end one. Based on that, I don't see why a RB-branded microphone would be any more expensive.
I am no audio guru. Maybe a vocals-caliber microphone really does that much. That aspect of the pricing seemed curious to me though.

You're probably right. They said you can use any USB mic with the game, so it'll be competitively priced. I just didn't realize that USB mics were that cheap.

I'll probably start off with the game and 2 guitars, then eventually get me some drums. As it is, I'll have to buy a 360 to play it, so I'm going pretty cheapskates to start off.
Although, if the rumors circling around about a possible 360 price cut in August, maybe I'll be able to grab the drums in the first go-round.
No matter what, I am more than happy to spend in the $200 range for this game.

These are the current prices, and are subject to change.
Drum Set: $79.99
Microphone: $29.99
WIRELESS Guitar: $ 79.99
Just the Game: $59.99
Rock Band Bundle (with all three instruments): $199.99
There you go guys. Consider my previous post null and void.

Where did you get those numbers? Because since you bolded the "Prices are subject to change" think I assume you took it from some source.

Yeah, I got it from my work.
One side note: It makes sense that the guitars would have to be wireless, no matter what for the 360. There are only 3 USB ports on the system. If you didn't have a wireless controller, or it ran out of battery, you'd be screwed.

$200, for all of that? Sign me up! As long as it's quality, that's my main concern. I'm one of those people who is typically willing to pay a little more for good quality, and that's certainly the case here.

if you have a good friend like me then you yourself can buy the guitar your friend can buy drums and the hottset girl you know that like rock band buys the mike while you just use the guitar from guitar hero 2 for the bass

Think they said that the guitar from guitar hero won't work with rock band.
I'll end up with the full set exc. bass.

Q: Will my Xbox 360 GH controller work with Rock Band?
A: We intend on supporting the X-Plorer guitar controller, yes. We also intend on supporting any third party controllers that come out. We know that the fans want a choice of controllers to play our game and we have no desire to get in the way of that. That said - our Fender Strat controller is going to have some added features that bring some extra awesomosity to the table and the X-Plorer controller may not have the capabilities to utilize all these features, but you should be able to play the game unhindered.

I'm a weekly podcaster, so I know the value of a microphone. I have a $500 microphone set up for the thousands of listeners every week. If you get a cheap-arse $15 microphone, you're not going to be happy with the quality. Words won't recognize, sound won't recognize, and any hissing from typical, cheap microphones will result in a terrible score.
In all honesty, suck up the extra few bucks and buy a microphone that you know is not only designed for Rock Band, but guaranteed to work.

I doubt the RB mic will be much different than the logitech mic that shipped with Kareoke Revolution. I would think you could grab a used one for cheap if money is a factor.
I'll buy the whole bundle as money is NOT a factor for me.

Still hard to believe drums are 80 i mean they are wired so shouldnt it be around the same price or a bit more than the Gh1 SG Guitars ?

The drums are alot of molding and assembly and the like. The electronic are almost negligible. They gotta make these things tough, not cheap.

Okay, but remember what began this thread?... The prices listed on the last few pages ARE NOT the actual FINAL price - according to EA. Who knows what all this could cost in the end? My guess is $300, but I'd like to see it at $150... gotta work - HARDER! =D

knowing EA, the price is going to only go up, probably be $250 or something.

If the final price is 200+ I will just be getting Guitar and Game of Course And later On I would Buy Drums

Boy, I hope it's not that much. $250 is a whole lot of money for a video game with a few accessories. That's a Wii or a core 360 system!

yeah, I am willing to pay 200 dollars, but any more than that and I will be very pissed. I'm a freaking teenager, how do they expect me to get 250-300 dollars for a game and a few accessories? I've already been doing TONS of chores and yard work to get any bit of money I can for this game. but if the price goes up any more, I might as well apply for a job! I really hope the price is going down and not up...:(

Damn i pray its less...200 bucks is a fair amount of cash and any more is reaaaaaally pushing the envelope. Sure its a great game and all but I mean jeez- we paid about 400 for the system..or 2,000 or however the hell much you PS3 people spent (lol :p ) Anyway, if its lower than yay! but im fine paying 200 bucks
