Tried to think of songs that would be fun for all instruments, for example, the Plain White T's song....yes it's not the greatest song in the world, but it would be fun to sing for some people... :) Not sure how The Crusade of Surfing With The Alien would go....they are both instrumental....but they would be insanely fun songs to do on guitar, bass and drums!

Man you need a lot more classic rock music on there. Some Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd to name a few. This is the original stuff that lead to much of the music you have listed here.

Hinder is post-grunge and highly acclaimed by Dave Grohl and no one else. Therefore, a former member of Nirvana's opinion should appeal to you, no? Regardless...
MCR? Coldplay? Green Day? What are you, a third grade student?

Well, although Dave is a great muscian and I loved him while he was in Nirvana, he has gone a lot more into the pop side and "radio friendly" sound. Dont get me wrong the Foo Fighters are a great band but they cant really be compared to Nirvana because they have a different style and sound. So as far as Dave saying he likes Hinder that doesnt really mean much to me. Just listen to that "Lips Of An Angel" and you cant honestly say that you think that is hard rocking.

Now I will admit that I do not really like Metallica, but if you do put them on your list why would you choose "Enter Sandman" as your song?
It is the same riff almost entirely through. Plus it sucks anyway.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. I think Nirvana is radio friendly pop music... Doesn't mean it isn't good or "hard rocking", but it's still another Linkin Park to me.

i think you would be hard to find a song thats in either GH games that isnt Radio Friendly by current standards. the kind of things that arent played on the radio are also things that generally dont belong in a T rated game.
as a personal move, i would take out the songs by the same artist. pick the one you like the best and remove the others

Ok I'll admit that the popular songs were "radio friendly" but if you dig a little deeper then you will find some pretty hard ****. "tourettes" is a personal favorite, quite a bit of Bleach is hard, just go past the popular stuff.

that and i dont think a song that is popular or radio friendly automatically makes it bad for guitar hero. i think we can all agree that Freebird is, was, and will allways be a popular song, but that doesnt detract from the fact that its a wonderful GH2 song.

I think you're a bit off... This was in relation to Seattle Sound being a critic of someone else when his name reeks of the same. Radio friendly doesn't matter to me, it's quality. I never spoke bad of Nirvana, I simply said they were radio friendly. That's horrid logic.

true, i was reading a few steps ahead and thinking about where the discussions was probably going to lead: that once a band becomes mainstream they somehow arent good anymore

Megadeth was mainstream with both Rust in Peace (selling over 800k total) and Countdown to Extinction (selling over 2.1 million total) but they're still good. Such logic makes no sense. :/

i agree with you there: that hating something because its popular makes no sense at all, however there ARE people who bash things that are popular (not just music, but books, movies, games, whatever) for no logical reason, other than the fact that its popular.
for instance i am a HUGE Sims fan, but i get alot of flak from people who like to trash it. not because its girly, kiddy, or whatever, but because its "TOO MUCH FUN".
i think a large part of that is because its popular, wether its a #1 Radio Hit, a Platinum Seller for the 360, an Oscar Nominated Film, than people automatically assume that the makers of it are "sell-outs", and that somehow detracts from the item that has been made.

well, i suspected people from guitar hero would be upset with lists like these... expect nothing more. this is from MTV games so youll see rap and porn. I didnt see many bands that I liked except AC/DC. that is the only one that stuck out to me. I would suggest some bands like led zeppelin, Who, Floyd... stuff like that.

Alright I just want to say that in no way am I saying that just because a band is commercial or popular or mainstream that I automatically think they are bad or sellouts. Obviously that would make me a huge hypocrite. I dont know what I may have said in previous posts but that is my position on the topic.
