Pretty sure they had a patch ready to let GH3 guitars work.. but Activision wouldnt let them release it -- No second guitar on the game until they sell them seperately or if you buy a 2nd Special Edition set..

Don't say never, but as it stands right now it will not work. So I went out and bought another bundle just so I could have a full band..

They can work but Activision stepped in and stopped Harmonix from patching the game so that they would unless MTV pays them royalties for the use of their hardware (a practice that's considered absurd and unheard of in the hardware industry). Email Activision and complain, eventually they'll cave and let Harmonix patch the game.

Why doesn't someone leak a damn patch out that can be updated via usb??
What pisses me off is you can't even buy a second guitar yet... the GH3 guitar sucks anyway...

Why doesn't someone leak a damn patch out that can be updated via usb??
The obvious reasons are:
1. Unnecessary added complication: some people will end up with patched versions of RB and others will not. At that point, how is Harmonix supposed to patch the game further?
2. Do you think that would really shut Activision up? If anything, it would prompt a lawsuit including an attempted injunction against MTV Games/Harmonix/EA to keep them from selling anything Rock Band related.
3. Harmonix are the good guys in this. Their practices from the start have been open and honorable. Leaking the patch would be underhanded and show that discussions with Activision--which are still going on--are not being held in good faith.
